Charming Florida home on the water. Located in quaint little village of St. James City, this property is away from the traffic and crowds. Linger in the shady screen enclosed porch (Lenni) overlooking the seawall lined canal and view wildlife. Kayak to nearby mangrove lined waterways. Fish and sunbathe on the dock. Walk to nearby park reserves, bars, restaurants, marinas, and shops. If you have a boat to bring along a seawall is available to tie your boat to. Next door neighbor's 10,000 lb. covered boat lift is available for extra $200 fee. World class beaches and fishing waters are a short boat ride away. Boat ramps and bait stores are only a mile away. Drive to world class beaches like Sanabel, Fort Myers beach, Boca Grande. Leave early to avoid traffic and get parking.

Great Stay

We enjoyed our stay at Mermaid Hideaway The neighborhood was peaceful with nice neighbors. We enjoyed the porch and seeing dolphins in the canal. Dan and Linda were very nice and pleasant to deal with.

Awesome Family Getaway

We couldn't have found a more comfortable place to spend time. Resteraunts, grocery stores, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and more to do. The entire lanai overlooks the canal and furnished with new furnishings. We all enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend spending time there.

Great stay - excellent communication

Dan was great to work with and we very much enjoyed their space. The location is excellent if you want peace and quiet. The screened in patio area is really nice. Well stocked with all the kitchen essentials. This area was hit hard by Hurricane Ian but they are making a nice recovery. Note that this location is not close to the beaches in Fort Myers so keep that in mind, but we drove all the way to Lovers Key State Park twice and Sanibel once and it wasn't an issue - just plan accordingly. Would definitely stay again.

Comfy south facing Florida room.

Have enjoyed staying at various places around Pine Island over the years and this is no exception. Clean, well thought out place that has all you need to feel at home.

Very beautifully appointed home with great amenities ( 5 bikes, 3 Kayaks, games for rainy days!

Never ran out of cleaning supplies such as dishwasher and detergent, paper towels, toilet tissue, basically everything we needed was there except for the food. Although most beaches are an hour away it is a nice morning drive. Several parks nearby are quite lovely ....Lots of little shops and restaurants to stroll through closely, and Winn Dixie and CVS is only 5 minutes if that!

Amazing Hideaway Continued!

Home extremely well kept, stocked with all essentials and more! Screened in porch was an absolute delight, read relax, you can see dolphins playing and Manatees coming up for air. Fishing area is great, lots of catfish and Manatees love drinking fresh water from the hose. An unforgettable experience!

Amazing Hideaway!

Beautiful getaway! Ride bikes, kayak in the extensive canals - close to Matlacha and Pine Island Community park and pool. Low Key Tiki waterfront restaurant right around the corner. Pristine home with everything possible arranged for you, thought of anything and everything you might need!

Mermaid Hideaway

Great place to go if you like to get away from all the chain restaurants and stores. We enjoyed bicycling, kayaking and reading on the screen in porch overlooking the canal. Mermaid Waterfront Hideaway was exactly like the pictures. It was super clean, very cozy and we felt right at home. Thanks to Dan and Linda for allowing us to enjoy their home.

Mermaid Rental Home

We enjoyed our week at The Mermaid. Beautiful home in a great waterfront location in St. James City. The house has everything you need for a fun, relaxing vacation. The kitchen is superbly equipped and the the furnishings are comfortable and homey. The owners were easy to deal with and excellent communicators. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Awesome canal home

Great home right on the canal in St James City. Clean, well decorated and exactly what we were looking for, stocked with every amenity you would ever need.. Great boat slip out front with direct access to Pine Island Sound and a great big screened in patio for enjoying a drink and watching the sunset. Would highly recommend for anyone looking in the area.
