  • Set in the glorious and picturesque Périgord Vert, Dordogne; La Grange is a charming 5 bedroom Gite with accommodation for 10 people. It is fully furnished in a traditional farmhouse style typical of the region and consists of 3 double, 2 single rooms with 2 bathrooms, a private garden and swimming pool.

    Located in beautiful countryside, it is peaceful and quiet but not isolated, you are only minutes from the towns of Piégut-Pluviers 4km and Nontron, 8km.

    We are situated within walking distance of the picturesque village of Saint Estephe which has a bakery, Post Office and bar, it is also close to the Grand Etang de St Estephe Lake with its swimming area, boardwalk, picnic area, playground and snack bars.
    The area is popular for birdwatching and walking/rambling or if you prefer you can laze around your own private pool or spend time at the lake, visit local markets, châteaux and a range of other attractions.

    For those more action oriented visitors, you can go golfing, fishing and cycling or take part in some horse riding. We have a number of leisure bikes that you are free to borrow, we do not supply helmets so you will need to provide your own.
    La Grange has everything to offer you to experience a relaxing holiday in France’s beautiful Dordogne.

    Private garden and patio area, 10x5 meter fenced swimming pool, large shaded external eating area. Parking for 3 cars.

    INTERIOR DESCRIPTION:
    Entering from the gated patio area you will enter in the hallway with the large open plan kitchen and dining area. This leads into the expansive reception room with a varied selection of sofas and chairs ensuring your comfort. There is also a large characteristic stone fireplace housing the wood burner.

    The upper level contains the five bedrooms, a shower and bathroom, there is also a balcony that offers panoramic view of the local countryside and garden.

The welcome packs for all of us were a delightful bonus - the one for each of the children was carefully chosen and they were delighted with them. The house was spectacularly clean and well equipped (although more instructions about the oven would be helpful). Nicky and Alan were very friendly and any issue we had was promptly resolved - they couldn’t have done more for us.The children especially liked the pool and everyone appreciated it in the heat wave. The garden also had everything we needed with toys for the pool and plenty of chairs, loungers and umbrellas and a great barbecue that was large enough to cook for our three generations.The location was excellent and we visited the nearby lake play area twice, the Grottes de Villars, the market at Piegut and there is plenty of choice of supermarkets at Nontron. We also ate out (adults only) at La Baleine in Piegut which serves a limited choice typical local menu - excellent value.

We loved our stay here. Nicky greeted us and talked us through what we needed to know - she and her husband just live next door and were so kind and friendly and gave us a fabulous welcome pack of goodies as well. We had everything we needed including fans provided for nighttime.if there were any questions, Nicky responded within seconds! The house was scrupulously clean as was the gorgeous pool. It is in rural France - so peaceful - and there was a lovely boulangerie in St Estephe - about 10 minutes walk away. I think one of the youngsters summed it up well: her favourite holiday house because she met Nicky who was so kind and the house made her feel comfortable.

La maison est grande et spacieuse. 5 chambres et 2 salles de bain à l’étage, très bien équipées et cosy. .Nous avons été reçue par Nicky très gentiment qui nous a tout expliqué très clairement. La piscine est grande et impeccable. La maison est au calme et très bien aménagé. Il y a énormément d’équipements et tout est pensé pour que les hôtes ne manquent de rien. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour et nous recommandons vraiment cet endroit. Il y a de nombreuses choses à voir tout autour. Nous avons eu du mal à partir.
