We stayed in late May / early June and - other than a few thunderstorms - had a very relaxing & enjoyable time.
The owners (Veronique, who speaks a little English, & Dominique, who speaks good English) will meet you to check in as the cottage is on the land of their house
It's worth letting them know your expected arrival time when you're en-route.
The cottage is well equipped with a full kitchen including all the cookware you could reasonably need, including a Nespresso coffee maker. We loved the covered outdoor cooking & eating area - equipped with a plancha - as you could still eat outside in comfort whatever the weather.
The lounge has one large curved sofa - which looks good, though you'd struggle to comfortably seat more than 3 adults - and two armchairs. It's a pleasant space to relax with a book and stays nice and cool - helpful when it's hot outside.
One of the three bedrooms is downstairs and has a double bed and - separated by a curtain - twin single beds plus en-suite with a good size walk-in shower, so would suit a family.
The other two bedrooms are upstairs, both with double beds & ensuites that have shower enclosures, so enough space & privacy if you have a group of 3 couples.
The swimming pool is big enough to do some proper lengths in, which was great for us. It's not heated, so a bit cold when you first get in, but that's soon forgotten about as long as you keep moving!
The location is quite remote, so do take a look at Google maps or similar first so you know exactly where you're going - we drove past it on the first go!
This does mean it is very quiet despite being next to a road, as there is minimal traffic. The slight downside is that the garden/pool area is next to the road and, although there us a wall people on bike or high cars/vans can see over. The owners have some bamboo growing next to the wall which will improve the privacy over time.
A 30-45 minutes drive gives you a large range of sights and activities from kayaking on the Dordogne or Vezere, to caves, chateaux and many, many farmers markets which are well worth checking out.
Overall we had a really enjoyable holiday relaxing at the cottage and exploring the area.
We would recommend this cottage & the friendly owners :-)
