An authentic, centuries-old "gatehouse" carefully restored, located in the countryside on the prestigious grounds of the Château de Chaumont, an exceptional 17th-century heritage complex (family property since 1418) renowned for its sumptuous listed MH stables, a literal masterpiece & equestrian palace built for the grandson of King Charles IX of France by his wife Henriette de Laguiche, Duchess of Angoulême (one of the largest private stables of the Ancien Régime in France, the "most Italian" of all due to its remarkable architecture inspired by Leonardo da Vinci), perched on a belvedere also comprising a castle & a romantic park with a breathtaking view of the Charolais mountains, the foothills of the Auvergne, and even Mont Blanc on a clear day. A bucolic setting nestled in a magnificent, unspoiled haven of nature and greenery, bordering woods and meadows (with peaceful Charolais cows as neighbors), adjoining the vast wild forest of Avaise, a protected ZNIEFF (Zone Naturelle d'Intérêt Écologique, Faunistique et Floristique - Natural Area of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest) for its rich ecosystems.
