"This was our second stay here and again, the hotel did not disappoint. The check in was super quick and easy. Breakfast in the morning is a nice touch. The pool are is clean and well maintained. Staff is super friendly and efficient. Definitely will continue to stay here when in Altoona. "

"The house was very clean. Thank you for providing some basics…coffee, filters, creamer, cereal bars, spices. We were there for my wife’s funeral. The house was cozy but accommodated 9 of us. Despite -7 degree temperature and 15” of snow we were able to fight the drifts and cold.Dr. Robert Gebbie"

"Great little spot! Clean and comfortable. Was some confusion with entry, as we were sent the wrong directions for this location, but John the host was very quick with responding and getting us the information needed to enter the property. "

"The hotel and accommodations were nice and what we expected. What we did not expect was for their to be no staff on duty during the night to deal with the group of people occupying 2 rooms, slamming doors, stomping in the halls, yelling and activating the fire alarm at 11:00 PM, causing the entire hotel to be evacuated into zero degree weather."

"Management was very good. House not ready for cold or leaving the thermostat lowered between guests. Pipes froze. Needs a keypad at the back door as it’s closest to the parking spots. Will be great when kinks are worked out. House does not have air conditioning. "

"The owner was quite friendly and the room was clean. The building is old and the first floor is a restaurant, but we never heard anything unless we were in the hallway. Theres some beautiful vintage molding in the room itself."

"The Oar House is warm and cozy for the holidays accentuated with Christmas Decorations. Our family enjoyed a relaxing and comfortable stay."
