Surprisingly cleaner and quieter than I expected it to me. Slept well, the only thing I’d quibble about is that the shower took close to 4 minutes to get hot water. Beyond that, 5 stars all around

Floors were dirty, there was just a whole chip on the ground. The bathroom light didn’t work and the shower didn’t get hot.

This place is terrible, do not stay here. I didn't. Here's how it went... arrived, went to the office to check in, it was dark and no one was in there. I rang the bell for service, stood there for at least five minutes before there was any response. Then after the response via a speaker, it was another five until anyone showed up. Once there, I was asked how I got the room so cheap. There was some sort of issue between Expedia and this property, as they had a different number down for what it said I paid versus what I actually paid (I paid more than they thought). They seemed confused about the room I paid for, then handed me a key out of a container that said "dirty keys". The room was very small (expected) and had a strange sweet (not cleaner) smell to it. The walls were dirty, the air conditioner and refrigerator were plugged into a power strip that was dangling from an outlet up on the wall and the fridge freezer was completely encrusted in ice, it clearly needed a full defrosting. There was a sliver of used soap left in the bathroom, a random nail or screw laying on the window sill, and there was also an open container of chocolate milk in the window behind the curtain. The only positive, is that it appeared someone had washed the sheets. There was no deadbolt on the door, and the chain had been pulled out of the wall previously and then was reattached to the door trim (not secure). When we came out of the room, no one was in the office, so we dropped the key and left.

Scary "neighbors" living at this motel.

Seems there are poor people living here long term who have no cars and walk for groceries, etc. Scary surroundings. Drunk man sleeping in a car passed out in early evening near the ice machine that does not work. No mattress pad on bed, just the sheet over the bare mattress...

Not worth it at half the price

I grew up in the area, have been gone nearly 40 years. I remember Curry's being a nice little motel, good reputation. Well, no longer. I had to preview three rooms before I found one that didn't smell like cigarettes and had a working chain lock on the inside of the door. I strongly recommend whoever reads this: throw in an additional $10 or $15 per night and pick something nicer/something cleaner. The rooms looked like they hadn't been maintained, fixed, painted in at least 10 years--since the the Curry family sold out to the Indian conglomerate. If you must stay here, be sure to take something for your feet, e.g., flip flops. If you get up in the middle the night you won't want to touch your bare feet on the filthy carpet. I spent a couple months traveling throughout India in the late 70s; this motel was a lot like the accommodations I had over there. Minimally acceptable, but not up to American standards. One positive note: the area is still very nice--no crime, no danger of violence.

Quaint little inn

We attended an event and this little inn was perfect for our needs. The driveway could use a little TLC but not a big deal.

We were in for a charity golf tournament down the road. Worked out great for what we needed. Room was nice, owner made us a pot of coffee for our trip out after second night. Great price

fantastic place to stay

I enjoyed my time at currys motel..i came fron texas for a visit to saginaw and found this motel i met some amazing ppl and the staff treated me with respect like they knew me all there life..i recommend this hotel to allm friends and anyone who will be in the saginaw area..

Old - Oudated - But Clean

This Hotel is very old fashioned. Old and outdated. However, it was very clean. I would have expected to pay about $25 for this hotel. Not worth the money, but I would stay there again if the price was more reasonable.

Try Elsewhere

We wanted to stay on the west side of Saginaw, but would drive further rather than stay at Curry's again. The room was neat enough and in pretty good repair. The pillows were more like folded bath towels. Worst of all were the hundreds of bugs in the room - pill bugs. Clearly visible in the bath, they were also visible on the carpet upon close inspection.

Not Terrible, But Wouldn't Stay More than a Night

I stayed at this hotel for only a night after a wedding reception I attended. The only big issue was a breaker went out, but it was fixed really quickly. It was mostly "smaller" issues, like how the lights above the bed are placed so low you can't sit up in bed properly, how the toilet didn't feel secured to the floor and tilted while you used it, how the parking lot was cramped and needs repair, or how the neighbors were kind of shady and scary people. It was certainly comfortable and definitely within my tight budget. While I'd think twice about staying there again and certainly think twice about staying more than a single night, my one night there was okay.

Room lacked featured items. No clock or wireless internet. Bath towels were paper thin. Lots of commotion in the very late hours of the night. They still use keys vs card for entry. Only one lock on the door worked as dead bolt did not.

Room was old and smelly but very clean and fridge and microwave seemed brand new. Only a push button lock in door knob and a chain (could only use from the inside). Upon arrive another tenant followed us and stood against the wall about 3 doors down, when we pulled out 1/2 hour later he left. Music pounding above us and someone walking loudly until front desk called at 3:00. Their music stopped for 10 minutes then turned the tv on full blast. We decided a 3.5 hour drive home was worth it at that point. Advertised wi fi but wasn't available, tv was fuzzy.

A Pretty Unpleasant Experience

We got there around 9:30 pm. I tried to confirm if there was wi-fi as advertised, and they needed to give us another room, and that might account for our bad experience as that was not the room they were going to give us originally. When we got to the room, we were very shocked to find the door of the neighboring room opened and someone was smoking in it. When we got into our non-smoking room, it was stuffy and smelled of cigarette. The air-conditioning was not turned on. The washroom was reasonably clean, but the toilet seat had paint peeled off and no shampoo was provided.
