"This hotel was extremely difficult to navigate. The property is massive and feels like a maze, with no clear or up-to-date maps available. I had trouble even finding my way in and out, and the long walking distances would make it especially challenging for seniors or anyone with mobility issues, particularly when carrying luggage. The rooms were small, and the overall layout made for a frustrating experience. While the staff were polite, they seemed short-staffed and unable to provide much guidance. I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again."
"My stay last Saturday night was not a happy one. The hotel had a noisy group of 8 year-olds that ran in the halls and made a terribly loud noise in the room above ours. When I called the front desk to complain, there was no answer. Around 2 AM somebody kicked our room door, very much sounding like he wanted to barge in. I finally opened the door to see a white male in the mid-twenties with a packsack skulking in the hallway. I tried to call the front desk. Again, no answer. My wife not feeling well, we decided not to stay a second night. The person at the front desk informed me that since the reservation had been made by a third party, the hotel could not refund payment for the second night.
All in all, a teerible experience. I'm waiting for Expedia to get in touch with me concernning the refund.

Comfy St Lawrence getaway for Fisher or birdwatcher or for a family vacation
10/10 Excellent
"Absolutely gorgeous location, peaceful and beautiful. Cottage is very well appointed and proximity to water and trails a real plus. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return. "
"William was a great host. Welcomed us when we arrived personally and gave us a tour of the cottage and property as well as a bit of history on the area. He even had a small welcome gift from a local shop for us which was very nice. The cottage is older but well equiped for your stay. Perfect if you are lookinh for the laid back, low key kind of get away and not something bougie. Plenty of beds and bedrooms as well as living space in the cottage and outside. There were lots of birds on the water out in front of the cottage every day including geese, ducks, herons and hawks. Also beautiful sunsets every evening. We didnt go down to the visitor center at the wildlife santuary until sunday afternoon but i wish we had of sooner because we didnt realize they do canoe tours through the marshes. I recommend looking into this ahead of your stay or going by early in your trip.I also recommend making the trip to Barabas brewery which is about a 20 minute drive from the cottage. Its a nice brewery with a super well set up outdoor space including a food truck style kitchen, extensive seating area, games area and even a station with water bowls for your dog. Try the raspberry sour beer. All in all we enjoyed our stay and for the price you can not go wrong here "
A cozy riverfront cottage, Grandfather’s Landing cottage provides it all!

"We all had an amazing stay at this cottage!! Check-in was a breeze, and our host, Francis, was exceptional. He loaded us and all of our belongings onto his pontoon, took us over to the island, and showed us around while explaining how everything worked. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it feel just like home - nothing was lacking. The WiFi was impressive and reliable, which was a huge plus when I needed to work on my laptop. We can't say enough good things about his little piece of paradise. Thank you so much, Francis and Lannie! You truly are wonderful people and we can't wait to be back! :O)"
