Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
The house was spacious, cosy, and welcoming and we were enjoying our stay.Unfortunately, our experience was ruined on the last day due to an honest mistake with the check out date. We thought it was Saturday at 10 but it was actually Friday. When we got a call around 1pm asking why our belongings were still there we rushed back (about 20 minutes away) to pack up.When we arrived, the owners were cleaning and were shockingly rude. Instead of speaking to us calmly, they were confrontational and insulting, calling us “disgraceful,” “disgusting” even saying we “lived like pigs.” This was extremely hurtful and absolutely untrue. We have 5 star reviews from all other similar propertys we’ve stayed in and always leave places spotless. Had we realised the correct check out date we’d have tidied as we always do.There was also an earlier issue with the tumble dryer and washing machine. The dryer was stacked directly on top of the washer with no support. During a wash, it shook so much the dryer fell forward and damaged the socket. We explained honestly but were accused of lying. They also questioned our use of laundry facilities and products, even though the products were left next to the washing machine and the machine was noted as available on the listing. It’s a real shame because the house itself was lovely but the owners’ attitude turned what should have been a great stay into an upsetting experience.Nice house if you don't meet the owners!
