Great place to stay

The hotel is very nice for a stay. I was able to check in and take a nap in the middle of the day, after a long travel day. The room stayed quiet and sleeping was nice. The shower was great. No complaints.

Pro: Clean, quiet, black out curtains, decent breakfast. Cons: Arrogant, dismissive, bored reception staff at check in. I felt completely unwelcomed. That should be their job, make you feel welcome, smile. I was treated as I was bothering him, and looked just thrown a form to fill up. The hotel is worn out, ruined carpets on corridors, generally outdated, smells a little funny. I'm traveling a lot been to a lot of other Novotels, different countries, this one is low on the quality ladder.

Fantastic bed, and bedding. Really comfortable. We had a great night’s sleep. Great shower and Rituals Toiletries !! We left feeling very refreshed. I will definitely be using Novotel again.

Good central location, nice hotel, friendly staff and good facilities - enjoyed our stay 🙂. Just be careful if camper van as parking restricted height. Outdoor pool needs some maintenance on steps. Loved it though - thank you.

We arrived at about 10pm with a 6yo and 10yo children. we waited about 10 minutes at the reception. Our room was no longer available (booked by someone - unsure). The receptionist tried to find alternatives. He upgraded us to free breakfasts as a gesture of goodwill. We ended up getting two rooms instead of one and got downgraded by a telephone call (removed breakfasts) - I think that's really not good. I think once you offer something as a gesture of goodwill, you keep it, don't take it away. We spent in total about 30 minutes at the reception (the receptionist had to leave to check one of the proposed room) - very long check due to not our fault! Very disappointed as I had better opinion of novotel hotels. Beds were okay, bathroom floor was sticky but I carry wipes so wiped it away myself. Good toiletries. Hotel will need updating, our room's door was scratched significantly - it looked as if someone in the past tried to break in. Carpets (main corridor) also need to be deep cleaned/renovated.

Customer service needs to improve

The building and deco was good The food and kitchen staff were very friendly and helpful especially the gentleman from Sri Lanka, the slim white gentleman and the lady with dark hair The dark lady at reception wasn’t helpful and her responses were abrupt however all the other reception people were helpful especially the gentleman who was working over the weekend and the lady who was there this morning

Poor maintenance, sloppy cleaning

We had two short stays at the hotel in two different rooms. We have been here several times before before the pandemic, and the hotel used to be quite good. This time, both rooms had multiple maintenance problems. The first room had the stop of the bathroom sink missing, the in-room safe did not work, and one of the towel racks was broken. Although we asked them every day to fix these things, and they promised every day to do so, they never did (during a 5 day stay). The second room (second stay) had a broken lamp, and some problems with the shower, and drainage. The shower was fixed, but nothing else.
