Lake Okareka Getaway
The property has everything that you need to enjoy a weekend away (or a week). It has amazing views to enjoy a cuppa in the morning on the deck. Great base and close enough to Rotorua for groceries and activities and far enough away to have a tranquil spot to enjoy.

Outstanding location
The location was gorgeous. Great amenities and valuable folder of local information. Photos of all the kitchenware and where it should be put and numerous signage re not taking the books a bit sad. Why not have a shelf for 'book swaps' as well as 'do not take'

A beautiful, well-appointed bach
Fabulous 180-degree panoramic views - the photos just don't do it justice. 10 mins drive to Rotorua for restaurants / grocery shopping etc, so very convenient. The only thing you need to bring is a portable heater. We stayed in July and the weather was very cold, and the heat didn't travel to the two smaller rooms. There are also a lot of bach rules and instructions everywhere, so you need to be ok with that. That said, it was a very comfortable stay, hot tub under the trees with a lake view was amazing, the two larger beds are very comfortable, and heavy curtains made the rooms nice and dark. We slept so well! Thank you for sharing your beautiful bach with us :)

Amazing property for relaxing and adventure. We did both! Views of the lake from spa, decking, kitchen/dining, lounge, bedrooms were spectacular. Clean and comfy. Loved the use of the kayaks and Mountain bike lock up. Will definitely look to book again next year!

Charming Lake Okareka Tree House
This wonderful home is situated in a beautiful hilltop location among the trees, with stunning lake views. There are wonderful lake walks close by. The layout is wonderful for indoor/outdoor living. The house is cozy and has a well appointed kitchen that is fantastic for cooking -- stocked with everything. The furniture and decor are personal and charming. We had a wonderful trip.

Property was very comfortable, well maintained, and well located and we very much enjoyed our stay. Visitors need to be fit to go up and down stairs. The owners were very keen that property was well maintained by visitors. For 1st time lake visitors like us, our stay would have benefited from on site mountain bikes and kayaks being readily available (had to find all our fun which was fine but some more easy fun would be good, especially for teens)

Fantastic house to base a family for water sports and mountain biking. Lovely to sit on deck surrounded by tuis in the trees. Very clean and everything you need. Good parking including for the boat.

Wonderful house with stunning lake views
Only wish we could have stayed longer. The house is wonderful, so comfortable, super well equipped. The view of the lake is amazing and the surrounding area is beautiful. Rotarua a short drive, very convenient. Communication with Peter was great - a big thanks to him and Fiona for accommodating us for an extra night at very short notice.

A fabulous location with amazing views from both levels. Expansive decks. Lovely home & great facilities available with everything provided. We made good use of the spa. Wonderful venue for a relaxing getaway to a beautiful piece of the country. Bit of a hike up the stairs, but worth it!

We had a great stay. Perfect location.
Only thing to consider is that there are alot of steps up to the house, so need to be fit to carry everything up. Keep your bags light! With this in mind, it would have been lovely to have a but more firewood actually beside the fire for when we arrived.

Hi Zoe. Yes there are a lot of steps this is mentioned in the listing as is quoted in the listing that….. “There is a log burner. Firewood is not provided but you can buy it in places such as bunnings , miter 10 etc” Also mentioned in the listing is states that there is 60 plus stairs . I hope you had a nice stay

Perfect Lakeside Get Away
Loved waking up in the morning to that view. It was the perfect spot to enjoy a cuppa on the deck before wandering down to the lake to paddle in our kayak and swimming at the local beach. It is a well looked after property, spotlessly clean with everything you need. I image it is great in winter with still the same view and an easy ride back to the Redwoods. Would definitely come back again!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Can’t fault it. The only thing Is that you need to bring body wash, don’t get caught out like we did the first night. The view is just stunning. Highlight was the beautiful spa morning and night. Would definitely stay again

All for the view
Stunning weekend to be back at the lake and back into the forest. We are there for the mountain biking, so just a quick trip home to eat and sleep. House has a stunning view, beds were super comfy and we were cozy and warm. The owner is fastidious (clearly loves their bach), and given the stairs, the property is probably only suitable for families with older children. Thanks kindly for letting us stay.

Awesome bach with great views and everything you need. It’s far enough outside of Rotorua to feel like you’re away. Private and well kept. There are lots of rules to follow but you can understand as the bach is clearly very well looked after and loved by its owners. Thanks for the stay!

Beautiful view of the Lake Okareka.
We truly enjoyed our holiday stay at Okareka Rise Property. The views are breathtaking from the balconies and the house has everything you need. Great location to nearby attractions, town and great restaurants. We were recommended the Urbano Bistro and it was a 5 star. The hot tub was an ending to our holiday. We will definitely be back.

Simply Stunning!
This was just an amazing place to stay. The views from the house are gorgeous in any weather! It was cosy and warm with a roaring log fire. The owners - Fiona and Peter are so thoughtful with many personal touches. They left hot water bottles for the kids, plenty of warm blankets, and firewood ready to go. Their bookshelf is full of great reads. The TV is state of the art, The house is beautifully decorated with style. The hot tub was a wonderful extra bonus. It was perfect to warm up after a winters day MTB ride in the Red Woods. The location is close enough to get to all of Rotorua's attractions but far enough away to feel like you are deep in the country - far from the humdrum of normal life. We would definitely like to come back! We are a family with 4 kids - aged between 11-14.

Einfach Großartig
Ein wunderbarer Ort um Rotorua zu erkunden. Die Aussicht auf den See ist absolut großartig. In der Wohnung ist alles vorhanden, was benötigt wird, der Whirlpool ist zudem auch eine feine Sache! Von unserer Seite eine absolute Empfehlung für diese sehr originelle und liebenswerte Unterkunft!

Peaceful retreat with stunning views
We visited this property with our three children. Reviews mention the stairs a lot, we really did not find these an issue at all. Clean property with well-equipped kitchen. Loved our stay here, would recommend this place to everyone who is willing to keep the property in order, as this clearly (and understandably) is important to the owner. The view is to die for!
