This property was just lovely. Our family of four enjoyed all the cabin had to offer. Fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and laundry, with lovely touches all through the property. Our hosts were gracious and generous with lovely welcome gifts of fresh eggs and honey along with other little surprises. We loved the board and outdoor games supplied and made use of the lovely yard space. Totally self contained with the hosts a stone's throw away if you needed anything. You can easily walk into this place and feel comfortable, at home and relax. Close enough to Rotorua to drive into town to enjoy all it has to offer, but far enough away from its busyness to enjoy a relaxing stay. We really enjoyed staying here and highly recommend it to families.

Amazing getaway stay!
To call it a cottage would be an understatement, the place is very spacious and is basically a holiday house with everything you would need. Great range of amenities. Especially lucky to receive some welcome gifts from the hosts. Would recommend anyone to stay and will definitely visit again in the future!

Old friends catch up.
It's a gorgeous cottage, in a lovely spot. The owners are great to deal with, & very understanding of our changing accomodation needs. I'd definitely recommend it, & would definitely stay here again.

Delightful and relaxing
Had a wonderful romantic stay with my partner here, for four nights. Inside of the cottage was warm and comfortable, with unexpected treats as well as anticipated amenities. Spa bath was a treat, and whole place was lovely and warm. Really made the most of our stay, and would love to stay here again in future!

Best place to stay.
This was the best place we have stayed on while on holiday. The house was so comfy and modern. The house was well equipped with everything. Beatrice goes above and beyond as far as having brochures, and a folder about the house and other services. I highly recommended this place. It is situated in a nice quiet area too.

Beautiful clean comfortable cottage. Greeted with a pleasant surprise with some homemade gifts and a personalized note when we checked-in ( Thank you Trixli! That made my day ☺️) . Baby travel cot was also all set up as Trixli knew I was coming with a baby. Entire house was clean and beautifully presented. Kids had fun looking at the chickens and bees outside. Trixli was also very kind and accommodating when we had to reschedule our stay - very responsive and easy to deal with. Thank you Trixli and John for everything!

Rita's Cottage was perfect for our family. After almost a week of mostly restaurants, we were eager to eat in. The sparkling new kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and everything we needed to make home cooked meals. After a day of hiking and zip lining (highly recommend Rotorua Canopy Tours!) the spa bath was great too. The Cottage is just a quick walk from the lake and a 5 minute drive to town for groceries or anything else you need. Everything was spotless and fresh and the beds were comfy. There's also a peaceful garden for lounging in the shade or eating a meal on the patio. Really a gem of a place to stay!

This property lives up to its name - it really is cozy. It's got all the amenities you'd expect from a holiday home. We appreciated the wee gifts that were left for us upon our arrival. The bedrooms are generous in size. There are two bathrooms - one includes the toilet, and it has been beautifully upgraded. The other has a great washer/dryer set up - oh and a spa bath! The surroundings are wonderful. The shops are close by, as is the lake for walks to feed the swans. We'll definitely be back.

Rita's cottage was just beautiful, so clean and tidy and had everything we needed and more. The location is perfect too, in a beautiful garden setting with the lake just down the road, loved the local cafe, bakery and fish and chip shop down the road too. Thank you so much for having us Beatrice and John and for our beautiful homemade gifts, we all really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again soon

The cottage was very quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed watching the birdlife in the adjoining field. Would definitely recommend as it is close to the fun activities and a 10 minute drive into the heart of the town.

Definately recommend this property, it was extremely clean, warm and had everything you could need. The owner even called afterwards to let us know we had left our pillow. There were some awesome handmade gift waiting on our arrival and they had even turned the heat pump on to warm the place up. Will definately be back!

We just loved staying at Rita's Cottage again, and can't wait to come back. Baby quail hopping around the garden! The entire property was an absolute sanctuary. Quiet, calm, peaceful. Warm and welcoming
Rita's Cottage was an excellent choice for a winter holiday. A well equipped cosy and warm cottage which looked out onto greenspace where pukekos and terns foraged. Beatrice was very welcoming and provided lots of little treats. Her eggs and honey were second to none! A huge bonus was being able to house my mid-sized car in the internally accessed garage. No problems packing and unloading during inclement weather! The spa bath was a blessing after tramping up Mt Ngongotaha and through the Redwoods. We found it a useful centrepoint for visiting both the Waikato and Bay of Plenty - less than an hour's travel to either province. A pleasant and easy 10 minute walk to Ngongotaha shops (worth checking out), and a 10 minute drive into the city.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Hosts were very welcoming on arrival, showed us around and then left us to get settled. Were very approachable throughout the stay and always helpful. The place was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Took a bit of time to find everything but we eventually did. BBQ needed a bit of a clean but the host gave it a good scrub beforehand. Looking forward to staying again whenever we're back in town!

Great cottage, nice owners. The cottage is at a great location, only a few minutes drive from Rotorua. But far enough to have peace and silence. In the cottage is everything you could wish for, and if it’s not there you can just ask. We would highly recommend the cottage to everyone!

Perfect Place
My husband and I absolutely loved staying at this property. It is extremely comfortable with everything one could require. We particularly enjoyed the location as it was close to the Lake, yet very quiet, and still within an easy drive to the main town of Roturua. I would heartily recommend this property for anyone who would like to have a comfortable stay near Roturua.

One of the best places we have stayed. Brand new carpet, comfortable beds and bedding, fluffy towels and a friendly welcoming owner made us wish we could stay longer. Nice and roomy with 2 good size bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, family room, modern kitchen, and even a garage. Carpet was 1 week old, but all flooring and kitchen looked new. 2 minute walk to lake.
