HOTEL CANOVA IN ROME
Great location. Reception was great. Room was clean. The room needs some attention. Door trim fell off and bathroom was missing a piece of trim completely so inside struts and insulation exposed. The place is old but these items could be fixed.

The reason why I put average is because they said they have breakfast there and there is nothing there to eat not even coffee in the morning. Otherwise the staff was excellent and the property is clean.

This was a perfect location for our visit to Rome—easily walkable from the train station and close to all the major sites. The hotel was clean and seemed to be recently updated. Check in was easy.

Good location, and the place was recently renovated. Room is small, bed is low to ground and not the most comfortable. It is in a convenient location, close to many restaurants and a metro station.

Conveniently located near many eateries, the main train station, two major subway lines and bus stops. It's a quaint property, with a comfortable bed, good lighting and power. They also have a rooftop/outdoor space to sit. The breakfast room was not available while we visited since it was under renovation. However, the room was quite small. There was barely space to unpack two suitcases. The shower was extremely tight - About 2ft x 2ft with a lower than standard showerhead, which made it really uncomfortable for my husband who is 6ft 2 and needed to crouch in a very small space. There was no caddy or rack to place any of your toiletries in the shower so you either had to hold on to it, or leave it on the floor, which made for very awkward maneuvering in a tight space. The safe and the heated towel rods weren't working either. Although to be fair, we didn't follow up to see if they could be fixed. We spent 3 nights there, and spent most of our time outside, so we managed alright. But I wouldn't stay here again.

This hotel was the perfect location for us. We were able to walk wherever we wanted to go and always felt safe. If it was a bit of a distance, an Uber was fairly easy to get (unless the Metro was on strike, that is). We loved that we were able to walk to most places that we wanted to visit, especially the Colosseum. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and a what’s app message was sent to us, detailing how to access our room since we arrived late at night. However, our bathroom had an odd smell (as some of Rome does), which was not pleasant. This didn’t dampen our trip, as who spends too much time in their rooms when in Rome?! Also, if you’re staying here, travel light, as the elevator is quite small. All in all, we had an amazing time in Rome, thanks to the staff and location of Hotel Canova.

The terrace was a lovely addition to the stay. The room was very clean in general, and well cleaned and made up each day. Breakfast was consistent and helpful to have available on site before going out for the day. There is little to complain about here. We would stay here again when in Rome.

Our stay was excellent. They had to change our original room to another but it was fine. Our room was small but comfortable. The area has so many eating opportunities and is an easy walk to Termini train station. Due to our room change they offered us a complimentary breakfast which was appreciated. We recommend this hotel.

The staff is super nice and helpful. Had a 5:30am pick up. The desk clerk went out of his way to make us cappuccino and gave us fresh delivered pastries for breakfast. He even wanted to make us something to eat to take with us. Would definitely book again next time we are in Rome.

Hotel is ok but very small. Room small and very old. Cleaned daily which was nice. Breakfast was good lot of choices but served again in a very small room. WiFi terrible. Location is good close to everything but Would not come back.

We enjoyed the location, quiet neighborhood but still walking distance to everything, staff were friendly and nice breakfast selection with a pretty rooftop. You can even get different types of coffees... we didn’t figure that out until the last morning. I think the rooms could use some love and better ventilation because mold was starting the grow in the bathroom.

The staff was welcoming and the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The recommendations for nearby restaurants were not so great, but there are many options. Convenient to Roma Termini. Easily walkable to the colloseum, Trevi fountain and the pantheon. Easy bus ride to St. Peter’s and other landmarks.

Great Hotel very well situated
Great hotel and well situated. Convenient for the central station and, with the Colosseum just a 10 minute walk away, a great base for sightseeing. Even though by day it doesn't look it, the local area is full of restaurants and bars and there is a 'supermarket' next door. Good sized well equipped rooms and even though the hotel was having some renovation work done while I was there, everywhere was still clean and fresh. The only minus point I have is that the lift is quite small and very slow so for anyone with mobility problems, that may be an issue.

The bed was very comfortable and thankfully the sheets were very clean. The hotel is locate in a central spot in Rome - both the Coliseum and Trevi foundation are 20 min walking. The room could use some attention - scratch marks all over the walls, and as mentioned in a few previous reviews, has a very distinct musty smell. The room is small and the bathroom is extremely tiny (you have to shut the door to get to the shower which is located behind the door), so ok for a smaller solo traveler, but not sure how a couple would fare in this space.

These hotels are older buildings mixed in with residential areas, so expect the rooms to be small, not what we're normally used to in the USA. This one was easy walking distance to the termini station, in a quiet neighborhood, had A/C and Wi-Fi in each room, and was close to a pharmacy, a grocery store (pick up snacks and water), as well as decent restaurants. This was also about 15 minutes walk to the Colesseum.

Quaint hotel in ideal location
The hotel has wonderful character from the reception area to rooftop breakfast area to the tiny lift (yes it's very small!). This is a small hotel and is simply run but for me ticks all the boxes for a short break in Rome. Our room was on the 3rd floor and I could not fault it. Yes there's not a lot of space but this was my 4th time in Rome and I've never had a spacious room in any hotel I've stayed in. Considering how much time was spent in the room that's not an issue for me. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was smaller than I'm used to but was sufficiently manageable. The staff were so friendly and helpful which was nice too. We had breakfast included and we wee happy with what we got. The location of Hotel Canova is perfect for getting anywhere in Rome and has some great restaurants within 10 mins walk in any direction. Found the restaurants in the area of the hotel cheaper than the ones nearer the main attractions and the food was excellent in each one. I will be recommending this hotel to friends and will be a hotel I would come back to next time I'm visiting Rome.
