Great place if you are into monastery setting. Staff welcoming and cordial. They were kind enough to switched us from an small/dark upstairs room to a friendly, bigger room in the center of the hotel. I really appreciated that. Continental breakfast is included. Not much to do near by so we had to go to another part of town almost every day. The only thing I didn’t like was the type of tv show played in the breakfast area, considering this is a part of a church they should be playing different show/ music church/ Christ appropriate.

We had a great stay here, my 1st time and the 5th for my wife, great staff, nice clean rooms, a wonderful, massively architecturally stunning building, the lift is a real help, it was broken on our arrival so a big climb to our room on the 2nd floor, it was soon fixed, thank goodness so, would we go back, every time. Thank you to ALL the staff that made our stay perfect. Oh yes, a brilliant powerful shower too.😍

The fact that the hotel used to be part of church, and the adjacent part still functions as a church, makes it a unique experience. Great connection to the downtown by metro, a fantastic and famous cathedral in walking distance and a cosy park characterize the place. Special kudos go for the staff that are really nice, helpful and effective. However, the room itself is a big negative surprise. Although our quadruple room had a clean bathroom and a tv (that was it!), the room looks like a dormitory room to say the most. Four cheap beds shoved together, old and unpleasant mattrasses, torn and worn bed linen, squeaky wardrobe and dirty walls... It is bearable for a couple of days like ours but for a longer stay I would not consider it or all you wanna do is just sleep and then leave the room for the rest of the day. Well, the nights will still be unpleasant because of the old and now bad quality mattress... I must admit I am not sure if this is because of the price, I'm not that familiar with accomodation prices in Rome.

Excellent hotel for short stay in Rome. Used to be a monastery but feels like a palace. Simple rooms but spotlessly clean. Air con worked well. Very friendly and helpfully staff, shout out to Brian and Steve. Breakfast was simple but adequate and filling. Lovely views from the breakfast terrace. Good transport links to central areas and station. Restaurants and shops close by. .

Fantastic historic building. The greatest feature was the roof top terraces and rooms which would be only better if there was WiFi there. Outside the a hotel is like slum with garbage everywhere, lawns not mowed, weeds.. No WiFi except in lobby which is far away from rooms. The neighbourhood is also sketchy. Could be great with some more work and features added but can't do much about neighbourhood.

We are so happy you have appreciated the structure of the hotel. it was the ancient convent of the basilica next to the building and transformed in hotel. The building is very large and for these reasons it has been difficult to cover all the spaces with wi-fi signal. We're so sorry you didn't like the neighborhood. We are not too far from the histarical city center but we can't do much about this as you wrote.

The property was unique because it was or is part of a church. It has a lot of history because I would see the tourist checking out the church. The staff was great and friendly. And it's a good walking distance to the Metro and the Colosseum. The only problems I had are pretty small. The cable would loose the signal a lot and they need to change up there breakfast.

Fab place to stay!
This hotel is in a unique setting - the rooms are part of a block attached to a beautiful church! How different is that? The rooms are comfortable, with en suite facilities and the inclusive breakfast is perfect! The location is great for getting around - there's a tram stop just outside and a metro station within a 5 minute walk. Perfect and excellent value!

Good hotel in a church.
I stayed here for two nights before traveling to Naples. The room was clean expect for some shampoo packets that were still in the shower... This hotel is in a church as well so it is a little outdated but a great experience. The breakfast was average but the staff was very helpful and even printed some ferry tickets for us. It is near the metro as well. I felt it was a tad bit overpriced as we didn’t even get WiFi in our room.

Budget hotel in a good area.
All hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. The rooms are rather stark and basic but if you're visiting Rome the chances are that you won't be spending much time in your room. Ours overlooked the garden area at the back of the hotel and was nice and quiet. I found the mattress a bit hard but my husband didn't have a problem with it! The bathroom was a decent size, well equipped and everything worked, however, there was a constant unpleasant smell of drains which we couldn't get rid of. The buffet breakfast was good, the usual continental choice of pastries, meat, cheese, cereals, yoghurt, fruit etc. Short walk to shops, restaurants, trams and metro and only a 20 minute walk to the Colosseum.

Family of 4
The rooftop terrace was awesome to relax on and drink some wine in the evening, and had some views. This hotel, I think like many of the hotels in a city as old as Rome, is older. That being said, it was still suitable for our needs (family of 4). The A/C went out in the middle of night but was not a problem as we just opened the windows. However, as it was not fixed until about 3 pm the next day, needless to say we could not stay in the room, given the Rome summer heat on the 4th floor (our fault kinda for booking Rome in summer which I would not recommend). Overall, I would stay there again but I would look for somewhere with a pool for the kids first, next time.

Quirky, beautiful and peaceful. Tons of space!
We traveled with teenagers and were so grateful to find a room with lots of space. The windows in our 4 bed room were breathtaking. The staff was very accommodating and breakfast on the rooftop was lovely. The location is just steps from the St. John Lateran Archbasilica-a must see! But check to make sure the church will be open when you want to attend. They closed the entire church right after Sunday mass the day we visited. We loved the themed setting of Domus Sessoriana. Yes, it is quirky and yes we struggled with hot water, but embracing the whole experience and setting, it was wonderful. Stay here if you want history, setting, LOTS of space, magnificent pictures, breakfast included, and a peaceful vacation.

Nice hotel close to transportation in/around city.
My wife and I had stayed at Domus before. This time we took 5 other couples with us. The close proximity to transportation coming into the city, around the city, makes it an idea location. Single elevator for breakfast causes a little opportunity at times, but the food is worth it. Friendly staff with excellent service.

Interesting Hotel
This hotel is very interesting. If you are looking for something unique and different I would defiantly recommend. It is quite far from the city center but only a 10min. walk to the subway which was very easy to use. Rooms had very high ceilings, wifi was great, air conditioning worked, bathroom was spacious and clean. Only downside was the breakfast and the location from all the main sights.

Rome stopover
Always a pleasure to stay at Domus in Rome it is a little off the beaten track when it comes to Hotels in Rome but what a safe and different beaten track! Our second stay at Domus and although the room did not have a pleasing view of the unused pool which was turning into a pond, the room no 103 was clean neat tidy and new. So if the wife is happy that is all that matters with personnal care facilities.Last stay we had a much bigger room and this new one was compact but served the purpose as we slept well on a comefortable mattrass clean sheets and pillows. The aircon worked well and the safe was used, the new glass enclosed terrace roof breakfast room was a pleasant surprise!

Beautiful external appearance, basic room.
The hotel itself is gorgeous on the outside and was a wonderful first impression. The entryway and staff were pleasing, but the room was very basic. The room appeared stark and empty compared to many other hotels I have been to, but was very clean and well-maintained. For the low price Domus Sessoriana exceeded my expectations. The hotel was also within walking distance to the Coloseum and Forum (20 minute leisurely paced walk) which was a nice perk as well.
