Everything was great

The room was nice, but not nice enough to justify the price. I’ve stayed at Marriott properties that were nicer, but much cheaper. I really wanted to try this property because I heard so much about the Salamander, but I was disappointed. I was expecting bells and whistles for the price. Our room only had 1 bottle of water and no one ever answered the phone at the front desk when I tried to call to request another. The valet parking is RIDICULOUS! $86 per night is highway robbery and there is no option for self parking. I stayed 1 night and was charged for 2 days of parking. I’m glad that I looked at my bill. I’m still waiting for my credit card to be refunded. I doubt that I’ll stay here again when planning another stay in DC.

Clean room, staff polite and efficient, good location. All good there. Although an additional charge for parking was a bummer, maybe they should include it in the room rent to avoid the surprise. And this might the only hotel in my experience that doesn't have drinking water available. You have to go nearby gas station to get water. Also they ran out of milk and jam in breakfast, which again was an unpleasant experience.
