"Hotel was under renovation. We were informed prior that the pool was under renovation but not the entire hotel. Most of the 3rd floor was under construction. There were rooms on the second floor under construction. The carpets were dirty and WiFi was intermittent. Front desk was helpful and allowed us to cancel our reservation and provided a full refund. Perhaps it will be better in the future. "

"Overall it was a terrible stay. We were staying for one night for an early morning gymnastics meet the next day. We did not travel far but planned on use of the pool and dinner and a decent nights rest for an early morning. Room was clean enough until we unfolded the sofa pull out that was stained, had holes, no bedding, and was in such poor shape it wasn’t worth or safe to sleep in. We were informed on check in that the pool was closed for maintenance. Which to the staffs argument was on th web page buried in three links and nothing was on the pool info page which I specifically checked before heading to the hotel to know the pool hours… so instead some dozen children (not my own who were now board and disappointed) were running about th halls of the hotel. Breakfast on the weekends isn’t served till 8am Which did us no good because we need to leave by 7am now on the serach for food before or comp. Coffee was not even ready at the “Starbucks” in the lobby at 6am. The hotel in on the main road. My fault for not checking location better. We had a road side room. Between the lights and sounds from the essentially highway I might as well have bee sleeping in a tent on the side of the road. No decent food near by. I wil never book here again. "

"The staff was lovely. The mattress was comfortable. There were a few issues with our room. The sink wasn’t clean when we arrived. Could have been a backup? The door handle for the cabinet under the sink fell off in my hand. It would be nice if the front doors had an automatic option for opening as it is challenging to enter when your hands are full."

"We stayed for 4 nights with our young children. I booked it because of the kitchenette—I really needed a fridge and freezer for the baby milk and food, and that was great. The spacious room was also helpful. The room itself, while fine for our needs, needs some TLC. The bathroom wallpaper was stained, there were rust stains around the shower, the microwave didn’t work and no one came to look at it after I called to report it until we reported it a second time. In the end, the outlet just needed to be reset, but the front desk man didn’t know this when I first called and the maintenance guy wasn’t in, so it took two days to push a button on an outlet. We couldn’t get the room temperature to a comfortable level, it fluctuated between too hot and too cold. The racks that hold the dishes in the kitchenette were also dusty. We could’ve really used blackout curtains on the window. The room itself was noisy. I could hear our neighbors (and I imagine they could hear my children) and I heard screaming and profanity down outside the window one night at 11 pm despite being on the 4th floor. I was also surprised they didn’t give us any new towels when they cleaned the room. Overall the experience was fine and I’d choose it again for the fridge, since we needed that, but there could be some improvements. "

"This is our go to place when visiting our grandkids. Clean and the king suite gives us room to relax. The breakfast is good hot selections that vary by the day. There is staff right there to help keep things clean and help with any questions we may have. It is just a refreshing take on handling your customers with love and respect. I do not see that at every hotel. Kudos to Rockaway Fairfield Inn & Suites. We will definitely be back!"
