We were a group of 12 (3 families), on a ski road trip. Staying at the guest lodge was so special as there was plenty of room for all of us to share dinners, play games etc but still have our own space. Beautiful setting and close to Mt Baldy which is a wonderful small ski hill. Erika was very welcoming and easy to communicate with. Loved our stay.
One of the best most relaxing places we have stayed!
We had such an amazing time staying out at the Lodge! It was a central meeting point for family from Saskatchewan and Idaho for a couple days, before heading on to our next destination. I think we were all a little sad when it was time to head off to our next destination as we could have spent many more days out at the lodge, hiking, exploring the area, floating in the river, and witnessing wildlife. The lodge exceeded are expectations, it was so well stocked with everything we needed, very clean, the beds were very comfy and there was tons of room for our group of 14. We are already planning our next trip back and our kids cannot wait!!!
We stayed here in early May and loved every minute of our time. The land and house were stunning and exactly as advertised. This property is perhaps the best equipped place we have ever stayed especially the kitchen, making a gourmet experience possible if you love to cook. The location is secluded and private and immediately lends itself to a sense of quiet and a slower pace. The night sky is amazing and fire pit encourages you to come outside and enjoy the evening.
Without a doubt the best part of our trip was the truly amazing hosts- the Fossen family are some of the kindest, generous and genuine people you’ll ever meet.
We had a great trip and look forward to returning.
A delightfully unusual house in a wonderful setting
I stayed at Fossen's Guest Lodge for a few nights in August 2023, with my three (young adult) kids. We had an excellent time. The house is visually striking, well equipped, and spotlessly clean. It is also very well situated, being surrounded by >600 acres of attractive grassland and trees and approached by a 3.5 km-long dirt track. One definitely feels 'away from it all' when staying at the lodge. We made full use of the facilities, especially the billiards/pool table and the table-tennis table. If it had rained during the day, we would have been able to amuse ourselves indoors without a problem, I'm sure. Lastly, the property manager, Erika, was brilliant. Very friendly and attentive. I hope we can return to the lodge in the near future.
It's a beautiful lodge and location.
Very private setting, rooms for everyone.
Kitchen was good.
We appreciated the opportunity to meet with family there and go floating on the Kettle River.
We had a blast enjoying the property, Osoyoos, kettle River. It’s an extremely well organized and stocked property. Will be back again in the future. Thank you so much for sharing this property with us!

Look past the touristy hustle of Osoyoos!
There I was booking yet another Summer stay at a lakeside condo rental in Osoyoos when I came across this GEM. You want to "unplug"? Enjoy a sprawling log cabin on massive acreage. Go for hikes across the property during the day, explore old cabins dating back to 1898 (careful), old antique trucks hiding in the trees. Inside boasts a fantastic bar setup downstairs with a pool table. An ideal place for groups of couples to enjoy. 15 minutes down the road enjoy the old swimming hole of the Kettle River, or a very rustic pub lol. The owners are an absolutely superb family and make you feel very welcome, amazing attention to cleanliness and detail. When I say unplug I mean it, there's not even a TV in the place but you won't miss it. Cellular service is "full bar" if you must. We were offered a 25% discount on a Winter's stay, with Mt.Baldy nearby it might be worth checking out to go "off grid" from the crowds and stratospheric price points of our usual Whistler/Blackcomb trip. Check this place out, you owe it to yourself.
We saw whitetail deer ,wild turkeys, elk and coyotes. Peaceful time with our family serenity and fresh air. Great hosts the log cabin and deck are beautiful you won’t be disappointed we will be back next year cheers Erika and team
Perfect for our extended family of 6 adults and 6 kids. Excellent kitchen made meal prep a breeze. Many wide open spaces and large rooms, so comfy. So happy there were lots of beds and also 4 nice roll out cots so we could configure sleeping arrangements perfectly. The kids enjoyed playing in the huge yard. Watching the cattle, wild turkeys, deer and elk was an added bonus. Highly recommend for a big family vacation.
Beautiful lodge, surreal view! We enjoyed our stay so much. There were 11 of us for a family reunion and there was plenty of space for us all to enjoy being together but also be able to spread out when we needed individual time. The stars were amazing without any light pollution. The lodge was clean and well appointed, and Erica was so friendly. We went to Osoyoos which was about 30 min away and enjoyed wine tasting and beach time. We also floated the Kettle River which was so fun! We would love to come back again!
We booked the property to celebrate our parents' 80th birthdays. When we saw the property on VRBO, we were sold! Once we arrived, it exceeded our expectations. The property is beautiful and tranquil. The cabin is so spacious and very well-equipped. No need to worry about not having wifi -- we kept busy playing pool, ping-pong, games and had a puzzle set up for anyone to work on. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to friends and family. Thank you Erika and family!
This was our second summer coming to fossens lodge and again it was more than we could have expected. The lodge is massive and beautiful and has everything we need to make our family style dinners every night. The days and night are peaceful as we have time to gaze the fields for deer and birds flying in the sky and being able to see the milky way which is something we can't see from the city. There's so much space for family and friends to enjoy different things at the same time. Erika was such an amazing host, greeting us as we arrived. Making sure we had everything and taking care of us when we had car issues and being extra accommodating. We have decided to make fossens lodge a part of our summer tradition. Can't wait to come back!
This was our second time staying at the Fossen Guest Lodge and it was as amazing as we remembered it the first time.
I don’t often stay at the same place twice because I like to see what else is out there, but this place is just that good.
The place was clean with comfortable bedding and seating throughout the space. The kitchen had everything we needed for home cooking, including a BBQ and serving dishes for family style meals. Great bathrooms, and one with a large separate tub.
But the winner has to be the setting and design of the lodge. It is a beautifully constructed log house sitting atop an open field surrounded by trees - the pictures are true to reality, it really is that beautiful (and honestly it’s even better in person). If you’re looking for a quiet stay with a communicative, friendly and reliable host in the region - this is the one.
No complaints.
Amazing property. Highly recommended. This is our second time staying in October. Not sure if it's a fall thing and/or a log house on an farm thing but a lot of flies get inside the house.
We arrived as a party of 10 - 6 adults and 4 kids ages 7-80 - amidst the COVID19 pandemic for a family reunion. Obviously we were nervous, but Erika was very responsive to answer our questions prior to our arrival. The place was huge for 10 and we had plenty of space to spread out. Kids were upstairs in the loft , grandparents were in the master room and the parents were in the basement. We did feel that the beds upstairs were bigger than the beds downstairs. So we played musical beds a few nights to get the right fit. We asked Erika to cover the upstairs windows as the sun was quite bright and having the kids wake up with the sun was not in our vacation plans. Erika had something worked out within a few hours of our request. No AC was no problem as the place cooled down at night and was well vented. The property is at an elevation if 1,000M, so not as hot as the city.
The property was about 25km away from Osoyoos (30-40 minute drive). A little farther than we expected, but actually turned ideal. We were a 10 minute drive from the river and the Kettle Valley Rec area. We spent 2 days tubing down the river (there are 3 different spots to hop in) with the entire family - grand parents included. Also spent a day riding our bikes on the Kettle Valley Trail. The other 2 days were spent in Osoyoos on the lake and visiting the cultural Centre. Property was huge and we took advantage of the space to fly kites, mountain biked and have a pit fire. We appreciated that the kids could be as loud as they wanted without disturbing anyone. The pool table was also a nice touch and a big hit!
Highly recommend this accommodation for a group with a wide range of ages. Lots of variety of things to do with peace and tranquility at the end of the day. Enjoy!
