"Our stay at Bahia Principe Explore Coba was okay. Check-in took a group of us over an hour. There was rarely staff at guest services, and we would wait for a while before anyone would come help us. Even some of the staff tended to be rude at times, but most gave good service. À La Carte at the Japanese Restaurant was the best food we had the whole trip. As for the buffet, the food on our first stay was awful. The rest of the week was decent, but I definitely could not bring a picky eater to this place. Simple foods like burgers and mac n’ cheese were not good at all. The snack hut was not great either. Food overall was usually cold.
The rooms were kept nice but had a musty smell to them, probably due to humidity. Our A/C was set super low and still did not get any cooler than 25 Celsius.
Upon arriving, we had 4 room between a group of us. All of us had booked the exact same trip at the same time, and half of us had access to sister resorts included, while the other half of us had to pay ~$250 to have access the these other resorts. I do understand that this is not the fault of the resort but of Expedia, so I did not include this is my rating. However, this is worth a mentions for those looking to book this resort.
Overall, our time was okay, but we did expect better in a resort. We will definitely look at staying elsewhere next time."
