"Clean but like some old buildings, plumbing is a challenge. A shower where it was impossible not to spill water on the floor! But the room was clean and comfortable."

"For what you pay, this is an excellent place to stay when visiting Hereford, but it is really a room only property. It is situated a couple of miles outside Hereford, in a quiet countryside setting, so is nice to unwind at. There is a continental breakfast available for only £5, but this could not be booked through the Expedia site. There is a communal kitchen and dining room, so you can either make something yourself, or order in a deliveroo. The room was a good size, clean and functional, with plenty of storage for your clothes. The bathroom was a good size, with a nice corner shower unit. There is limited manning of the front desk, but there are contact numbers if you have a problem. Having said that, the 2 members of staff on reception that i met were both welcoming and helpful, so do not get put off by this. Would i stay there gain, most certainly."

"The Birches is an absolutely beautiful location. It is so picturesque, and quiet. An absolutely lovely spot. The house itself is charming, but folks with limited mobility would have a hard time navigating the steps, uneven floors, and doorways. The area directly surrounding it is perfect for long walks through the hills."

"Monnington House and Garden Cottage was a great place for us to have a celebration with family and friends. The house was warm and welcoming on our arrival. The kitchen had everything to cater for large groups. The south facing dining room was one of the reasons this property appealed to us as we wanted a relaxed dining experience, it did not disappoint. We decided to have a local caterer, recommended by the owner. The food was delicious, thank you SO MUCH to Debbie and her team, they were amazing. Can highly recommend! The bedrooms were spacious with very comfortable beds, and their own bathrooms. The bedrooms in the Garden Cottage which were also lovely, the Cottage is attached to the house but cannot be accessed from the main house from inside. Not a problem for us as it was just a few steps outside to the cottage. We appreciated the information on the touch stay guide given to us by the owner before we arrived, as it helped to plan our weekend in advance. We also enjoyed; a half-day canoeing trip with Hereford kayak Canoe, the local farm shop and lovely walks in the area. We also had a delightful private lunch in the conservatory at Brobury House and Gardens, with lovely staff who really went out of their way to look after us. Well worth a visit and just a short drive/ hour walk from the House. We had a wonderful stay at Monnington House and would love to return. I would highly recommend to friends and family. Thank you so so much for having us!"
