A beautiful retreat

First of our host Lorella was wonderful and very accommodating. The views are spectacular. We sat on the balcony continuously. The bed was comfortable and we had plenty of space. Would stay here again!

Quiet and peaceful

Wonderful spot, overlooking Manarola. Lorella, was a wonderful host that helped us book wonderful dinners and answered all our questions. We can’t wait to come back to this magical spot.

Amazing Cinque Terre views and location!

Lorella is a gracious host and communicated our pre arrival details as well as taking time to greet us in person and introduce us to the property and area. The views from the terrace and garden are amazing. The apartment is well maintained and decorated, and linens and bed very comfortable. An excellent stay overall!

Fantastic view

Great location close to restaurants, shops and hiking trails. Lorella was very helpful and made sure we knew about weather conditions. Paolo in the pioggia was very helpful with parking and transfers. Would definitely stay again.

Fantastic apartment with AMAZING view

It started with our amazing host, Lorella, whose family are long time residents of Manarola. Her well prepared welcome book had all the information we needed on trains, boats and suggested restaurants. The apartment was clean and included a kitchen so we could make our own meals. But the highlight is the deck which overlooks the town and sea. We wound up spending alot of time on the deck with a glass of wine watching the world go by.

Best penthouse view on the planet!

We were blown away by our stay at Lorella’s beautiful guest cottage in Manarola overlooking the Ligurian sea, Manarola village and mountain vineyards! Lorella was the consummate host to welcome us to her home and village and to explain trails and restaurants nearby. It was a perfect space for a couple. Would highly recommend anyone to visit and would love to go back. Thank you Lorella for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Beautiful Apartment

Wonderful stay in 5 Terre. Lorella was a great host that met us at check in and gave us a very detailed description of the area with many activities. Manarola was a great place to stay, easy to take the train to other towns and a quite place with many great places to eat and hiking trails. The apartment is actually better than the photos, very clean with a great porch and plenty of space for the two of us. Just like the description, there are many steps and hills to get to the apartment. But worth the trip up and down for this great place to stay.

This is a a roof top apartment that is clean, has comfortable beds and the most fantastic view you could ask for! It is not a 5 star luxury hotel. It has a small fridge that you can keep drinks, yogurt, cheese and other items. There is a kettle to make tea and coffee as well as as a stove with two burners. You can make oatmeal or soup but not a dinner so you have to go out to many of the good restaurants in the area for a meal. We ordered take out twice and ate on the patio as the sun set. You couldn’t have a more perfect sunset view while having dinner anywhere in the world. The only warning I have is that you are at the top of town and that means you have to carry your luggage up hill. My 60 years old wife managed her bag but she is fit. If you can walk the hill trails in Cinque Terre you will be ok with the stairs getting to this apartment. Yes I would recommend this to my friends and I would go back again.

An Absolute Gem!

If you don't mind walking lots of stairs, this place is a gem! Very comfortable bed and shower, a huge balcony with amazing views towards the water and vineyards, private shaded outdoor space in the back. Our host Lorella couldn't be nicer. She spend a considerable amount of time with us, providing the best suggestions for restaurants and even made our dinner reservations before arrival. And Manarola is the best of the 5!

Great place!!

La Terrazza 85 is absolutely amazing! Lorella is an amazing host and explained everything in detail upon arrival, helped to book a dinner reservation for us, and helped to coordinate luggage service - you can tell she really wants her guests to have a good time. The location is incredible - it is one of the highest points in the village with incredible views of the village and sea. The accommodations are very nice and cozy - the large patio was my favorite part. The apartment is up a very steep and narrow combination of stairs/walkways and I would strongly suggest smaller luggage and/or use of the luggage service - even if you are young/fit. :-)

Manarola view in Cinque Terre

The property is just as advertised. The terrace has a great view of Manarola and the sea. The kitchen, while small, is fully functional and adequately equipped. Most of the windows and features are quite new and keep it very quiet. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station, though there are lots of stairs. That is to be expected though. They do offer a service to help with baggage, if desired. I would recommend this property.

Stay in Manarola

We had such a great stay at Terraza 85 in Manarola. Fair warning you do need to climb a large hill as well as many steps to reach the property. However, the view from the property is totally work the steps! There is a large terrace that looks over Manarola below. You also have a great view of the ocean. The host, Lorella, was fantastic. She provided great information about the area including restaurant recommendations, logistics of getting around, wine tasting options, and even pesto classes. She also arranged for luggage transport from the base of the hill up to the property which was a life and back saver. The property itself was clean and well-furnished. We appreciated the ceiling fans and the AC. Highly recommend!

Amazing!

We only had 4 days in Manarola and wanted a place where we could see the water and feel like a local. This place did not disappoint! The apartment is cozy and clean with amazing terrace views of the town and the sea. Sunsets were fabulous. Be aware that the climb to the apartment is quite steep and may not be suitable for all persons. We found it very well worth the effort! Lorella, the property owner was wonderful and gave us great info on Manarola as well as the rest of the Cinque Terre. She also suggested a baggage service to get our luggage from the train station to the apartment. We HIGHLY recommend doing this as carrying or rolling bags the entire way would have been almost impossible! We hope to return soon to this little gem by the sea.

View from a terrace

Such a magnificent spot, with a perfectly placed terrace that overlooks the multi-colored town and rich blue Mediterranean Sea in one direction, and the church piazza and vineyards in the other. The sunsets are absolutely breathtaking. Morning coffee on the terrace with sounds of a waking town below are priceless (and make it difficult to pull yourself away). The location may not be ideal for all — it’s many narrow stairways up from the already steep “hike” up from the train station. But for anyone who is willing and able, it is so very worth it. The apartment is cozy and crisp. The doors to the terrace from the bedroom and living space create a dreamy space when they’re opened wide. The kitchenette is perfect for breakfasts. There are several small groceries in town for collecting goodies. Lorella is lovely and very available leading up to your arrival and during your stay. We loved every minute of our time there!

Lots of stairs to arrive to the apartment but the view is worth it! Not far from the Manarola train station, so easy to come and go to the villages. Patio is very relaxing and host was very communicative. I’d happily stay here again!
