"Had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hideaway Hotel. The food was exceptional, and the Mandarina restaurant truly stood out—every dish felt thoughtfully crafted and delicious. The attention from the staff was outstanding, always warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, which made the experience even more special. The spa was incredible—perfect for relaxing and disconnecting. We also loved the trails near the river, which added a beautiful nature element to the stay. Our room was very spacious, comfortable, and perfect for unwinding. Overall, it’s a fantastic hotel for a romantic getaway, highly recommended"

"The location was beautiful with an incredible view of the volcano and surrounding landscape. The gardens were great for seeing wildlife and birds. The staff was kind and attentive and the breakfast options were delicious. The one working hot tub was so relaxing. Our room was clean and huge although a little dated. The driveway to the property was rough, but it was part of the adventure and we saw wild pigs, coati and lots of birds along the drive. We enjoyed our stay very much and would love to return!"

"This is a lovely, magical property. Set high up, you often find yourself in the early morning rainforest clouds. You can enjoy a cup of coffee on the patio as the clouds burn off and beautiful Lake Arenal appears below you in the distance. An incredible fresh breakfast is provided each morning! Best of all is the attentiveness of Patrick, your host. He is always quick to respond to your needs and wants and ready to help you book excursions and experiences. The views are great, the setting beautiful and the property well maintained. "

"We didn’t stay long. We had a reservation for two nights, but decided to move on after the first. We had booked a tour and left early in the morning, but decided not to come back and to move on to our next destination instead. The staff was kind, but it wasn’t really what we were expecting or perhaps what we are used to.. it had more of a feel of a retreat than a hotel. Long shared tables in the dining room and very basic rooms. Can’t really say anything bad about the place, just not what we expected. Definitely would have needed s coffee maker in the room however as I wake up at 4:30 am and need coffee."
