"Booked the house to stay, 5 months in advance. Had no contact from the owner, so emailed with 1 month until stay date. Was assured everything was fine. They contacted a week and half before stay date to cancel due to routine maintenance. Three hours on the phone to book somewhere else, to be told I had to wait 72 hours before we could rebook. Asked to have my money back and was told 14 days for a refund. Shocking service!"

"The breakfast was very basic and cost an additional £49 for 2 adults and 2 children. We ordered a bottle of wine chilled in a fridge with two glasses for a special occasion, this cost £18. However there was no fridge in the room or bottle. We had to grab one from the bar which was priced at £14. No idea what the extra £4 was for. The rooms have no aircon and become very hot. Wouldn’t stay here again."

"Unfortunately we arrived on an extremely hot today to be told the air conditioning was not working and there was a fan in our room. The a/c was expected to be fixed the following day but this did not happen and it was out for the 3 nights we were there. The room was really warm and it made for very uncomfortable sleeping. The hotel offered free parking to compensate but this did not feel proportionate given the impact on the experience. The location was great for the variety of restaurants and shops."

"The staff were helpful, the environment was clean, and the stay was generally peaceful with no disturbances. However, we were disappointed with the swimming pool facilities for families with children. There was no separate pool for kids, and the main pool was 1.3 metres deep. Surprisingly, the hotel had designated this pool for family and children's swimming sessions between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., which did not seem practical or safe. There were also no safety aids available, and no lifeguard Apart from this concern, the amenities were good and met standard expectations."

The Mount Rooms

"We were pleasantly surprised, we just wanted a cheap base so we could travel around so to be fair we weren’t expecting much. But it was brilliant, the whole place was spotless, our room (number 37) had been recently redecorated and had everything you needed, including kettle and telly. The bathroom had old fixtures and fittings but it was clean (no mould or dirty tiles) it had also been recently painted, and everything was functional including the bidet! The shower was not a power shower but it was all we needed and worked well. The bed and pillows were comfortable and we slept well. Our room had a fantastic sea view and we enjoyed looking at the funfair lights at night (in the distance, no noise). The actual hotel was quiet no loud or unruly customers the whole time we were there. The position of the hotel was fantastic in easy walking distance to the beach,funfair, shops and Gavin and Stacey filming sights. It’s also only a five minute walk from a Witherspoons restaurant which was brilliant for evening meals at very cheap prices. All in all we had a fab weeks holiday and would book and stay here again in a heart beat."
