Wanting to end a long holiday with a couple of comfortable nights winding down we chose to spend two nights at Burg Schwarzenstein. Less than an hour from Frankfurt airport overlooking the Rhine valley it was perfectly placed for this. Whilst there is not much to do on site, the surrounding restaurants, villages and forests make this a great location whether travelling as a couple or family. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and practical. The beds were comfortable. A hairdryer was offered and on request a kettle provided. Although free water was provided some tea/coffee would have been appreciated. The free shuttle was a plus even though it required a bit of a walk. Overall and excellent choice for uncomplicated travel.
