Cozy little apartment in the quiet Laugardalur valley area

Small private apartment/studio (bedroom, bathroom and a small kitchen area) in a quiet neighborhood next to Laugardalur valley, 7 min. drive to downtown Reykjavík. This is a ground floor/semi-basement space (4 steps down) restored with quality furnishings and furniture. Includes a washing machine, dryer, espresso maker, TV and free wi-fi.
Please note that the ceiling is a bit low (215 cm).

Parking is free in this neighborhood where you'll find the largest outdoor thermal pool in Iceland, a Family Park and Zoo, botanical garden, Restaurants, cafés and art museums.

Our goal is to provide our guests with a nice and clean private space with a comfortable bed, bathroom and simple kitchen where they can enjoy free wifi, TV and prepare simple meals at a fair price.

Please note: Our building is currently undergoing exterior upgrades. Work is mostly outside and does not affect the interior (which is in perfect condition), but there may be occasional noise during daytime hours.

For some reason our listing says that the property has an outdoor pool. This is not true. Neither us or the VRBO team are able to change this for now, so please keep this in mind.

We had a lovely stay. The host was helpful and answered all our questions. Having a washer and dryer was great. Snacks and a notebook with instructions and recommendations were much appreciated. Very clean and comfortable.

Prime spot

Clean, welcoming, affordable.The couple that owned the vrbo were very friendly and accomadating. The location is about 15min from almost everywhere in reykjavik.

Great place to stay

A welcoming note and atmosphere. A perfect little apartment in this home, with comfortable bedding, shower, kitchen, good WiFi, TV, washer/dryer. We felt comfortable and safe in the home and the neighborhood. Parking on the street was easy. This was a great place to stay during our time exploring Reykjavík. There were many nice renovations. A well cared for property.

Lovely spot!

We found the space to have everything we needed, and the beds were very comfortable. We were able to cook to save some money on food, and it was great to have a safe space of our own for a few days!

Sublime suburbia

This is the perfect little basement appartment. I actually found it to be a little bit bigger than the the pictures show. Its got everything you need to start your stay in iceland. From street parking (which is a really big bonus in this city!), to cooking utensils, to easy access to the ring road, this place is a great place to start your ring road trip! Or if you don't have time for that, this is a great landing pad to explorer the whole capital area without worrying about changing locations. If we come back to Iceland we will definitely try to book this place again!

Peaceful neighborhood, restful stay!

We really enjoyed our time at this apartment. The neighborhood was quiet and walkable, but it was easy to get to the city center and other places we wanted to go by car. Asty was very kind, helpful, and welcoming. It was a great place from which to enjoy our first time in Iceland!

Great place with easy access to downtown

Comfortable and cozy place to get rest after site seeing in Reykjavik. The kitchen came in handy on days we decided to eat in. There are restaurants and shops close by as well. We found the place quiet and comfortable. We'll use this place again for our next trip to Reykjavik.

What a great place! Very close to city center but far enough to be quiet and less expensive. The apartment was bigger than I expected with plenty of room for two people. The hosts were great!

The place was clean, comfortable and well furnished. I would recommend renting a car as Reykjavik is easy to drive & the apartment is a few minutes from downtown.

Comfortable, Stylish, Wonderful

We had an amazing stay. The space is very well decorated and the choice in design is intentional and modern yet cozy. You can tell that the hosts have put a lot of care into the space. The bed is very comfortable. The hosts let us check in early - we’re grateful for this courtesy as we were incredibly tired from our flight! The guest guide was very helpful and we appreciated the suggestions for restaurants and general city information.

A lovely apartment tucked away from the busy down town area the atmosphere was great Asti a perfect host .Best if you have a car to get around the apartment was nice and cosy. Great place, especially if doing more than Reykjavik

Clean, easy to get to, free parking, plenty of space. Very happy with our short stay. Easy access both to and out of Reykjavik. If you have a car and want to do things in both Reykjavik and outside Reykjavik, this is an excellent choice. I was also kindly notified that we left the fog lights on for our car, which kept us from waking up to a dead car when we needed to get to the airport! Thanks!

Nice neighborhood , all you need for short stat

This is just as listed. Very comfortable for a short visit, kitchen is good for simple meals. It is about a 45min walk to downtown but you can take scooters or the bus and be there faster

This is a nice studio apartment that's very nicely done. The bed was quite comfortable and we really appreciated having the washer and dryer. The location is on the northern edge convenient to route 41. Close proximity to a beautiful park and botanical gardens and bus stops to downtown. The owners were very helpful and friendly.

This was just what we needed, our only regret was not needing to stay longer! Your spot was so thoughtful, clean, cozy, comfortable, and the best nights sleep we’d had all week. Could not ask for more!

This spot is honestly perfect, especially if you have a rental car (which we did). You have plenty of space, a comfortable bed, a nice bathroom, and a kitchen with every cooking utensil you’d want. Location is great with the easy 5-minute drive to downtown, a cheap gas station a block away, and the Bónus supermarket 3 minutes down the road. The neighborhood is quiet though, which makes getting a good night’s rest very easy. En-suite laundry is so clutch as it made packing light much easier. And all for such a reasonable price! Host’s instruction booklet had great amount of helpful info for the apartment as well as the local area. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great small apartment in the best location in Reykjavik

I can't say enough good things about this place, cozy, full of amenities, a great upgraded bathroom, really hot water, in probably my dream location. Everything is 5 mins away by car! In every direction too. Just bring your suitcase as they provide everything including a full kitchen and laundry! The owners are wonderful, friendly and warm. I'll definitely be back renting this place again. I'm sad to go back home.

Cozy little Appartment with everything you need

We really enjoyed beeing Astys guests. The appartment is situated in a suburban housing area but well connected to the city by different bus lines. Shops arent very far away, 10-25 min footwalk, depending on how much you need. The rooms were tidy and clean, the kitchen well equipped and the bed very comfortable. We recommed this place if you want to discover Icelands south and want a basecamp in the capital. If you want to enjoy the city life of Reykjavik, it might be a little far off.

Close to parks but away from the city center, which is a good thing:)

very nice couple who were very attentive during my stay. only 2 issues I ran into while I stayed was the TV was not working (hopefully this was fixed for the next tenant), and the wifi worked...but was a little strange, my laptop had no issues, but my phone would have a week signal....it could have been my equipment, so I never brought this up. I have no fears that if I had had any other issues, that they would not have been addressed. it was a pleasant stay in a quiet neghborhood.

Wow, just Wow!

I must say that this "Cozy little apartment" was just that and more. I can not say enough good and there are no negatives. Our host, Asty, could not have been nicer or more helpful. This should be the standard for all rentals. The apartment was spotless clean. Everything that we needed was there. The bed was super comfortable. Parking was right in front of the house. The neighborhood was super quiet. The location is very convenient for visiting Reykjavik and the surrounding areas. I have to mention that I read the reviews and all of them were extremely positive and once we arrived, I knew why. If anyone is planning a trip to beautiful Reykjavik, I highly recommend you stay with Asty.
