This is in a converted garage, which is nice, no one beside or above you, with a big window looking out into a private yard and front windows frosted for privacy. The unit was clean and had everything you need. The bathroom is on the small side, making maneuverability challenging, but similar to other European bathrooms. The inside was bright with lots of lighting. I will say, as someone else mentioned, the beds are labeled “extra firm.” More firm than extra, but if you prefer a softer mattress these will be much stiffer. This is of course to no fault of the owner, as you can’t predict individual sleeping preferences. I slept fine, but a little stiff for my husband. I would also note the neighbors garage door can be heard clearly when opening/closing, but they never came and went at odd hours and were not a disturbance.
Now, the best things. First the location. 3-4 blocks from the tail end of one of the major shopping/eating streets and near it all for exploring. Easy access from main arterials and always parking available. It was so nice to wake up in a quiet neighborhood of families. It was never loud, and we felt safe at all hours walking about.
Lastly….CATS, so many cats! I had no idea Iceland had a huge love of cats, but if you’re missing yours at home, like we did, we were greeted by them daily from so many homes. So sweet and nice and well taken care of. It was definitely a highlight for us!!
