Really enjoyed my stay. Rooms are basic but clean and have everything you need. Bed was comfortable and if I was working in the area again I would book to stay here.
Property generally needs refurbishing, good cleaning and repairs. Its tired and very basic in contrast to adjoining pub.
You pay for what you get. Suited for an overnight stay for a wedding but no longer. No service as such....but clean towels, fridge and kettle. Take your own milk and plan breakfast locally..10 minute drive to Retford.
Cleanliness was poor, dusty, bed base was stained, shower was cold, windows opened onto pub carpark. Internet never worked, I stay one night out of two booked, they refused to give a refund, claimed to be a superior double room, shocking is all I can say.
Disgusting room if you can call it that ! Broadband and tv didn’t even work. The restaurant was closed at 2015 on a Saturday night so had to order from Uber eats.
Definitely not worth £60 for a night. Wouldn’t recommend and definitely wouldn’t stay here again. In fact I’d like a complete refund for this stay !!
Room was so dirty had not been cleaned cobwebs every dust everywhere room was cold and when i spoke to owners said the room had been cleaned and not used for 3 days. Room had broken lamp and sticky ring marks on bed side table. Green dusty mould in fridge and alot of spiders thick layer of dust of flowers and lampshades. Bed throw had dried food on it. We did not wnd up staying found other accomadation and got a refund tooms nothig like pictures and as for twin double second room was not a room it was a small box with only a double bed in just!
The pub, which the hotel is attached to, was closed. No information about how to check in or obtain a key to my room was given. I was lucky that 2 employees of the pub were there (live-ins I guess), in the car park when I arrived, so they eventually managed to get me a key to my room. Otherwise, no idea how I would have got in.
Room itself was awful. Dirty, cramped poor facilities. Shower room (separate) was even worse. Black mould on the soap tray, paint peeling off everywhere, spiders & webs, really just awful. Worst place i have stayed in for many years, and I travel for business a lot.
Don't recommend this place to anyone. No chance of an evening meal, no chance of breakfast, I would have been better off camping by the canal, it would have been cleaner and more comfortable.
