We knew rocky mountain was nothing to talk about. Only being a 2 star. But our stay was so gross. There was clumps of hair in the bed. The bathroom was gross, the towels were dirty. The tub was dirty. Didn't even shower. And the bed was so uncomfortable. I hope I dont bring anything home with me, bug wise. So gross

I stay in a lot of hotels and I’ve never written a review or walked out on a stay before this experience. It was so bad that we handed the key back and didn’t stay. Where do I begin? The smells (like cat urine), the drywall mud patches on the walls, dirty, terrible. I’ve been in touring bands for years, toured all over Canada and the USA (even oilpatch Alberta) and I’ve never seen a property this run down in my life. The owners refusal to refund my money or even offer explanation is wild. VRBO is refusing to help as well as Expedia passing the buck two and fro. You will get the runaround. This property is so desperate for your money that you will not get it back. Do not book this property. After speaking to some locals, we found out that the city of Renfrew pays this… “establishment” to put up the city’s addicts and unhoused for the winter. Avoid at all costs, especially if you have kids or you want to stay married. Had to book another hotel at extortion prices and lose my investment as well. AVOID.

Subject: Formal Complaint and Demand for a Full Refund Dear Expedia Customer Relations, I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment with both Expedia’s handling of my booking and the condition of Rocky Mountain Lodge in Renfrew, Ontario. The moment I realized that I had accidentally booked the wrong hotel, I contacted Expedia immediately. I sent messages and made phone calls asking for the reservation to be cancelled so I could receive a refund and book a hotel in the correct location. Unfortunately, despite contacting Expedia right away, I received no meaningful assistance. After arriving at the property, my disappointment became even greater. The motel was in extremely poor condition and far below any reasonable expectation for a property charging approximately $150 per night. The building was extremely old, worn out, and poorly maintained. The bathroom and toilet were in unacceptable condition. The washroom door was damaged, many facilities were outdated, and the air-conditioning system was old and barely functional. Overall, the property felt neglected and did not provide the standard of accommodation that customers should expect when booking through Expedia. In my opinion, the value offered was nowhere near the price charged. I deeply regret staying there and wish my cancellation request had been honored when I contacted Expedia immediately after making the booking. At the same time, I want to be completely fair.
