Lofoten Cottages

"Lofoten Cottages in Nusfjord was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to the Lofoten. The elevated cottages are beautifully designed, spotless, and situated right on the water, offering breathtaking views of the fjord. Waking up to the peaceful scenery in the morning felt almost unreal. The breakfast, which was included in the rate, was an exceptional experience in itself. The carefully curated selection of fresh, high-quality food was far beyond anything we expected. Every detail was thoughtfully prepared, making breakfast feel like a luxury dining experience rather than a standard hotel breakfast. The location in the historic village of Nusfjord makes the experience even more special. The village is charming and picturesque, with beautiful traditional fishing cabins, stunning scenery, and a wonderful bakery. This property is truly special and offers the perfect blend of comfort, authenticity, and luxury. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Lofoten. The restaurant is also a must-visit. Be sure to make a dinner reservation in advance. The combination of cozy surroundings, stunning fjord views, impeccable service, and exceptional cuisine creates a truly elevated dining experience. If you're looking for a memorable and unique place to stay in Lofoten, this is it. We cannot recommend it highly enough. One question for the team: What brand are the pillows? They were incredibly comfortable and provided some of the best sleep we've had while traveling!"

"Our stay at Catogården was absolutely amazing and one of the highlights of our trip to Lofoten. This is a truly unique place where every piece of décor feels intentional and thoughtfully selected. The eclectic style creates a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes the property feel special from the moment you arrive. One thing worth noting is that all guests share the common bathrooms. As someone who is a bit of a neat freak, I can honestly say this was the cleanest shared-bathroom accommodation I have ever experienced. The bathrooms and common areas were spotless at all times, and fresh white towels were always available, making the experience feel comfortable and welcoming. The amenities are exceptional. There is a dedicated coffee/team room, kitchen and several beautifully designed common areas where guests can relax and unwind in the evening. Every space has its own character and charm, yet everything feels cohesive and incredibly well thought out. We also appreciated the availability of electric vehicle charging, another example of the hosts' attention to detail and commitment to guest convenience. Every single aspect of Catogården reflects careful planning and thoughtful design. From the immaculate cleanliness and unique décor to the inviting shared spaces and practical amenities, every detail has been considered to create an absolutely amazing experience. I highly recommend Catogården to anyone visiting Lofoten and would stay there again in a heartbeat!❤️"

Lofoten Basecamp

"We booked the cheapest room which was approx $200. Our cabin was a small, clean room with twin beds and a bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the room was cozy from the cold outside. The hot water in the shower is limited to 10 minutes which they kindly warn you about, and for us was not an issue. They had a coffee maker, microwave and fridge as well as utensils which was nice. We were able to park right outside the cabin and there were electric vehicle chargers. We did not use the sauna. While everything was clean and communication was easy, I am not sure it is worth the price. It is an extra $100 if you want a harbor view which seems like bigger rooms at least but again not sure if its worth it."

8/10 Good
"Positive: the hotel was allocated in an old dock and our room faced the mountain and ocean which was very nice. Breakfast was quite good but not many hot food options. The bathroom was modern and has two shower points so it is a plus for couples! We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was quite good but pricey ( well nothing is not pricey in Norway!!) Negative: The bed was too soft and the bathroom sink was too shallow. The spout of the tap was too long and as a result it was very hard to wash your hands or use the sink without spillage. Our room was on the first floor and there is no lift."

"This place is very beautiful because it’s right next to the water. I got to enjoy morning coffee in a freezing cold weather with a beautiful view. It is in close proximity to all of the places in Lofoten . We spent all of our four nights in Lofoten here to avoid hotel hopping, and it was the best decision. The only thing that is inconvenient is that they limit laundry hours. Sometimes when we have to to head out we are not back in time to do our clothes and the laundry is already closed."
