"We had a great time in the snow, and host communicated well about getting the private road and driveway plowed. Lovely creek and woods in secluded location. Host had sleds and snow shoes we used. Kitchen had instant pot, electric water boiler, baking trays, some kids dishes, and all needed pot/pans/dishes/utensils. Some games and puzzles. Kids liked the big bathtub and bunk beds. "

"Host was very communicative. We had a great time through some adverse winter weather. Not advertised but there is a battery backup that helped when power was lost. Great cabin and host. I would definitely stay here again. "
Upscale Mountain Retreat • 9 Miles to Lassen National Park • EV Charging

"Perfect stay! The host is great, very responsive. She really nailed the Cozy Cabin vibe with the ambience of this little gem. Perfect spot for families—it’s cozy as hell but not cramped. Nice clean bathrooms, comfy beds. Well stocked with firewood for the wood burning stove. Some great board games and some outdoor games a ping pong table in the garage. I appreciate a rental that is well equipped in the kitchen and this place is a great example of that. Yes, the new standard coffee brewing method of rentals the K-cup machine is there for those that take it that way—but for those of us that prefer less one time plastic usage in getting our fix she also provides a drip coffee machine AND a pour over cone! Plenty filters stocked for either option, and even a coffee grinder!! That is hospitality for coffee lovers. The kitchen (which is beautiful btw) also has plenty of pots and pans and measuring spoons, mixing bowls etc. Everything you need and is very clean and organized. The location is super convenient to Lassen Volcanic Park. There’s also a really great cave to explore not far up the highway, Subway Lava Tubes. "
"This was a GREAT option for Lassen Volcanic National Park. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. The rooms were cozy with a nice mini-fridge and microwave. The restaurant across the street (same company) was excellent with some great sunset views from the large windows. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend."
Cottage #2 with a Lake and Creek, 15 mi to Lassen NP
10/10 Excellent
"We absolutely loved our stay at Bigfoot Lodging Cottage #2 It’s a very authentic cabin in the woods experience. The original vintage wood interior and squeaky wood floors added a lot to the ambiance. Plenty of outdoor space for grilling steaks or making campfire s’mores. The grounds are fun and funky with lots of interesting things to see including a pond and creek. The family that runs it is warm and accommodating with a small store that sells drinks and snacks. Just a short drive to Lassen. We would definitely stay here again. "
"Wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin. Arrived to the smell of bread baking which was a pleasant surprise (thank you). We enjoyed the burning of the supplied wood in the fireplace. Sitting around the huge deck listening to the creek was really relaxing. The cabin is in a perfect location for those looking for that get away in a beautiful forest. We did find the very small town of Shingletown, about a 10 minute drive, had what we needed for any other supplies. The Reed Market had a variety of everything. Thank you for your hospitality!"
Photos displayed in this historic museum provide a window into the park’s appearance during the tumultuous eruptions and rock avalanches of the early 1900s.
Fascinating volcanic rocks suggest an enormous debris avalanche shook the area just a few centuries ago. Swim in the lake and hike around the mountains.
