Cottage #2 with a Lake and Creek, 15 mi to Lassen NP
8/10 Good
"The original cabin we were assigned had some power outlet problems in one bedroom, and the hostess immediately moved us to another cabin - with great apologies. The cabins were well stocked in the kitchen and bathroom, and the beds were very comfortable. But there was a funk about it that included dated decor and furniture, with plenty of reminders about Bigfoot.

"Parking was ample, the place was very clean, instructions to check in were simple, it’s in a fantastic location for accessing Lassen Park. We don’t have pets so that wasn’t an issue either way for us. The desk is sufficient for short periods of work as long as you don’t need extra space for an external monitor for your laptop (I ended up using the dining table since I had to run a zoom call one day while there). The central heater is efficient and was necessary in early April for us, but the outside blower (installed just outside the master bedroom wall) runs while the heater is on, so after the 1st night we realized we had to turn the central heater off so we wouldn’t be woken up by the hum and the vibrating picture frames on the wall. Luckily there is a fireplace-style electric heater in the master bedroom so that’s what we used at night for occasional periods just to warm the room up briefly, and sleep more undisturbed the whole night. The grill outside is semi compact but sufficient for 2 ish people. The laundry area is ample and convenient. The bathroom is roomy as well. The entire house is very well and thoughtfully stocked. It would’ve been nice to be able to use the stove in the living room for heating but it was “out of service”, though the central heating unit was more than sufficient for warmth purposes. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others. "
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this clean, comfortable, and well organized cabin. Exploring Lassen in the off season was memorable and fun. The location is ideal. We really appreciated the early check in! Thank you so much, and we look forward to coming back!"

Modern-Chic Cabin, 10 Mins to Lassen National Park Gate, EV Charger, Pets
10/10 Excellent
"The cabin was lovely and exactly as described. The pines surrounding the back deck were peaceful. It was very close to the Lassen Park entrance where we went for a snow shoe hike. The hosts quickly responded to any questions I had before and during my stay. I would definitely stay there again. "
Lassen Creekside Cabin, 9 miles to Manzanita Lake, 3-Level Deck, EV Charger
10/10 Excellent
"We had a great time in the snow, and host communicated well about getting the private road and driveway plowed. Lovely creek and woods in secluded location. Host had sleds and snow shoes we used. Kitchen had instant pot, electric water boiler, baking trays, some kids dishes, and all needed pot/pans/dishes/utensils. Some games and puzzles. Kids liked the big bathtub and bunk beds. "
Photos displayed in this historic museum provide a window into the park’s appearance during the tumultuous eruptions and rock avalanches of the early 1900s.
Fascinating volcanic rocks suggest an enormous debris avalanche shook the area just a few centuries ago. Swim in the lake and hike around the mountains.
