We had a great time on PEI! The house was perfect for seven of us! It was right near where we wanted to be. We were able to take advantage of local beaches, a wonderful dinner at the Inn at Bay Fortune, some bike riding was done, but mostly lots of grilling and nights around the fire pit (although there was one night that we took advantage of the ping ping table with some rousing games!)
Nancy was a wonderful host and we will happily come back!!
I would say our stay was outstanding. Location was great just a few minutes drive from the beaches. Many golf courses in the area. Bugs were bad, but that is life in the country. Everyone enjoyed the stay.

The cottage is large and has a lot of living space. 2 full bathrooms and 5 bedrooms were appreciated. The location is convenient and the view is beautiful!
One suggestion is to invest in some air conditioning. The cottage was very warm, uncomfortably so at times, and felt damp because of the humidity. Signs of that dampness were evident. With some A/C we felt the place would have been perfect. Summers are hotter than ever before and expected to continue that trend.
Thank you to our hosts!
The picture and description on this listing does not do this house justice! Going off of the listing we chose a smaller house with one bathroom because of the great location and it turned out that there were 2 full bathrooms and more than enough space for everyone! Nancy worked above and beyond to get the wifi up and running in spite of the storms. The beach nearby is secluded and breathtaking- we maybe saw 5 other people there the whole week. The only downside is, BRING BUG SPRAY! It’s worth it though! Thank you so much for making our families dreams come true on this vacation!
Very peaceful and close to nature at the same time the games room kept the children happy and it is only 15 minutes to Souris for all your necessities. The canoe and kayak was also a big hit
We loved the location of this house! Beautiful views of the cove and ocean beyond. Canoe and kayak were available to use. We enjoyed exploring the water in the canoe. House is set back nicely from the road through trees. Very peaceful. But mosquitoes were everywhere. Getting in or out of the car was difficult trying to avoid mosquito bites. Beautiful deck out back but couldn't use it because of the mosquitoes and the high heat and humidity during our stay. The inside of the house was very comfortable. There was a great rec space in the basement. We played ping pong, foosball and darts. Wonderful family fun!! Dishwasher and washer/dryer were nice amenities to have. No air conditioning which would have been nice with the heat and humidity but we appreciated that the owner provided fans in every room.
We had fun exploring several beaches within 30 minutes of the house.
We had a great stay at this home!

Liked: Check-in, location
We were greeted by a cloud of mosquitoes, which the kids really disliked. We each got several bites in the short time it took to get into the house. Upon entering, I did a walk-through, and discovered a multitude of earwigs and spiders throughout the home. The bathrooms were the worst, having dozens of earwigs in the toilets. The property was mostly clean, but i wonder if we were the first guests of the season, because of the accumulation of bugs. They were on the floors, the walls, and even the furniture and countertops. The property was left unlocked for us (no big deal in these parts), so I had only online contact with the owner. I did call her upon check-in, but never heard back. I did call her husband because the dryer wasn't working and the handsoap was empty. The sheer number of mosquitoes really curbed our outdoor enjoyment, and we only used the deck a few times, depending on when the mosquitoes were out. The provided citronella candles didn't help much, and the bug spray wasn't enough. The water near the property appeared stagnant, which is why the mosquitoes were so plentiful. The inside of the home was extremely damp (especially the bathrooms). The heatwave made it unbearably hot in the house, and not all of the provided fans worked. We bought ice and a turkey roaster to make our own swamp cooler to cool down the home at night, but were still umcomfortable. We have stayed 2km away many times before, so expected some mosquitoes, but not the earwigs.
Beautiful, well appointed, comfortable, centrally located to everything Eastern PEI has to offer.
It's been bad mosquito weather this year, but this place will always be a little buggy. That said - come prepared and you'll love the place!
Great stay at Nancy’s rental. The kids loves it and it’s proximity to five beaches is worth everything.
Nancy checked in a few times to see that we were doing ok and then otherwise left us alone.
The house was family comfy. Kitchen well stocked to cook and clean. Tons of water hot and cold. Lots and lots of towels. Both bath and beach. Beds were comfy with lots of extra bedding and pillows. Deck backyard and view were great.
Wasn’t crazy about the damp basement but the kids loved it down there. Go figure.
All in all it’s a great place to rent if your a beach family and you love points east in PEI.
Would def recommend.

Gorgeous spot, very private even though in the village
If you need to go away from stress and feel like you are a million miles away from everything and everyone , here is the spot for you ! Even though close to everything , it seems like you are in a far away getaway .
Most of my friends and relatives already heard from us about this great vacation home. And some of them are already looking to book it for next year!

Spectacular Family Vacation
Our 9 days at Nancy’s home on Fortune Bay was amazing! The home is nestled in a peaceful setting, and they had done a marvelous job at stocking it with all the essentials one would need while staying there. We spent our days kayaking, playing board games, reading, and exploring the local areas of Souris and the Basin Head beach. We had some great games of ping pong in the basement game room and were blessed to use the BBQ grill on the deck. Beach combing at low tide was also a favorite for us all. I would and will recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a quite secluded get away as a couple or family.

Very private and beautiful
It was a perfect location. There was lots for the kids to do with the games room and swings outside. The kayak and canoe were a wonderful addition, and the view was spectactular. Basin Head was a family favourite and is only 15 mins away. We spent 2 full days there and it was nice to be so close. We loved it and would come back again in a second. Nancy made us feel very much at home!
