"The hotel seems to have had a recent make over and a re-brand. The room was immaculately clean and the bathroom looked new and was also very good. My only criticism is the lack of amenities; if you want a kettle or iron you need to go to a store cupboard on the ground floor to get it yourself and there is no fridge in the room. Apart from that my partner and I enjoyed the quiet and were very pleased with the room quality"
"It was an amazing stay at Ghotel in Essen. Nothing to complain about, fresh clean and with great parkingoptions as well. I will definetely come back!"
"Hotel was fine. Very conveniemt just across from main Essen station. Bit dated and the area surrounding it isn't great but staff very friendly and helpful. Main shopping area is just a few yards away "
"Gorgeous room, salts for your bathtub, waking up to wonderful smell of fresh baked breads. Convenient location to train station and perfect walking distance to Messe "
"First time staying here. Wonderful location next to the lake. Excellent breakfast. Bathroom was a little small ...maybe other rooms have a bit more space. Would defintely return."

"The staff were absolutely fantastic, after an overbook by Expedia the staff went above and beyond for us as a family with two children. Would highly recommend and have saved this as a hotel we will be staying at in the future "
"The rooms in The Mercure Hotel are large and comfortable with a good bathroom, everything is very clean.
If you stay at the Mercure Hotel, you Can easily walk to the town centre and the Main station, if you walk along the Huyssen Aller (runs parallel to Bismarckstraße). If you don’t want to walk very far for a metal, just cross the Folkswang Bridge (pedestrian) and turn right. There you Will find small local restaurants.
Ofcourse you are very near to the Folkswang Museum, and that is a must!! Entrance is free of charge, you only pay for the special exhibition.
Go to the UNESCO World Heritage, Zollverein, which is a former coal mine and factory. Just jump a tram at the main station. "
"The property was excellent in all ways, however the 5th floor elevator door didn't close forcing us to walk up and down to ad from the 4th floor from the 6th floor with my 83 year old mother. I hope maintenance fixes this."
"The property is the former drab Hotel AROSA. The rooms are updated in a homey Nordic flair decoration. I did not opt for an in-house breakfast, as there are many places in the neighborhood that open earlier. I got basic but comfortable accommodation at a good price. I’d stay there again."
