We had the luck of staying during the week of Halloween. the room was spacious and comfortable. There was a wonderful Halloween event happening and we especially enjoyed the owl show.
We loved it here. The grounds had everything for us especially the walks and the play sites for our daughter. Staff were really friendly and we will be back. Even our dog loved it.
Loved being able to enjoy the gardens and the fantastic work the young people did with the owls and the raptors. We wished we had had the basket breakfast every day having tried it on our last day.

ovely location , functional and clean.
A lovely location and a pleasant welcome . Clean and functional, though in need of some refurbishment . If you want luxury in the grounds of a castle, this is not for you - but if you want a no nonsense place to enjoy walks straight from the door, and be in some beautiful grounds, then it’s ideal .
Breakfast could be served in the sister hotel , a drive of 5 mins or a 30 min walk, or a ( adequate but a little unusual ) pack up left outside your door , or you could take your own and use the extensive available on site kitchen , which we would definitely do next time .

Very comfortable, clean and tidy. Just a bit dated and basic. We also opted for the breakfast pack, which was delivered the next morning and was very generous for the price.
Despite arriving to check in within the times stated, we experienced a delay. We were told intially 15 minutes though after waiting more than half an hour we asked again, and experienced a further short delay.
That said we enjoyed our break and would return.
We would advise anyone to book bed and breakfast. The breakfast provided in the cafe was up there with the best ive had anywhere. All was delicious and freshly cooked, with a friendly welcome.
The accommodation facilities were perfect for a small family and gave us the chance to arrive prepared and organise an evening meal.

Owls, views and history.
Basic but clean accommodation. The room was reasonably comfortable but a bit tatty. Staff were friendly and helpful but check-in was not as smooth as it could be. Breakfast in the stable yard cafe next door was good. What sets this accommodation apart is the fact that it's sited within the castle grounds and you have free rein when the castle is closed to visitors. The price of the accommodation also includes entry to the castle grounds during the day, includeing the owl, hawk and falconry displays, which are fantastic. My wife and I recommend the Coachman's Quarters and we'll be returning in the Spring.
Amazing surroundings within the castle grounds
Stayed in the coachman’s quarters . Clean, comfortable room with tea and coffee provided. Breakfast in the Old Stables was very good with cereal and fruit juice and hot breakfast cooked to order. Fantastic views from the terrace which we had access to before and after the visiting public. Fascinating insight into birds of prey and a fantastic display with owls and hawks. The castle itself is still lived in and furnishings , art work and exhibits open to public .Accompanying ghost stories added atmosphere to the evening stroll in the gardens . Couple of nice pubs serving food in Ravenglass which is a couple of minutes drive or half hour walk .Would definitely stay again .
Very comfortable and good value. Great if you have children too. A bonus being able to see the owl display and walk around the grounds. seful to have access to a kitchen and lounge.
Great stay at muncaster Castle, although not the cleanest, good facilities, good value for money with getting bird show in with price and an extra £2 you get entry into castle, lovely breakfast with friendly service, would definitely stay again
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We loved the beautiful grounds and the kid-friendliness of the whole experience. My grandson was so enamored with the owls, we had to stay late the next day so he could see the owl show again. I love what they are doing to help birds of prey!
It was a good b&b with all the facilities only that it is a little in outskirts so when we arrived we we're a little skeptical...but later on it was fine
Such an unique place to stay. Staff were lovely and the rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. The most amazing part for me, was the opportunity for an early morning stroll around the castle grounds before it was open to the public. Great stay. Would recommend.
