Great location right in the heart of all the attractions of the Black Hills. Very quiet neighborhood and outstanding sunrise view. We enjoyed our stay very much.
We really enjoyed this home on the mountains! It was perfectly located about 30 minutes to all the South Dakota attractions! We loved the home, it was cozy, clean, and well furnished! The views amazing!! We also did one of the ATV tours they offer which was so fun!
This house was a great place for our weekend getaway. The views were beautiful. We had some miscommunication on parking, but it was resolved quickly. I would highly recommend this house for a great stay.
We enjoyed our stay at the Bercher. The views were amazing as we had our morning coffee on the deck. At night we enjoyed sitting outside by the fire pit.
Great family time in the Black Hills!
The host was quick to respond.
They are NOT joking about the steep driveway but the views from the hottub are worth it!
Although as advertised the driveway is steep, we were able to navigate it with our Toyota Prius. The pictures do not do the views from the property justice! This home was absolutely wonderful for our vacation! Peaceful, relaxing, private. Loved our stay! Absolutely recommend!
Very well kept home with with breathtaking scenery. Incredible location, clean, and classic feel. Convenient amenities, including cookware, coffee maker, washer/dryer, and tv with access to streaming services. Very cozy, even has a hot tub to relax in. Our family enjoyed our stay, and would love to come back!
My wife and I booked for a few nights. Loved it!!
The views from the deck were amazing!! The place was very clean. Communication with Julie was great!!
Definitely benefited having 4 wheel drive getting up the steep incline.
We will be back next year!!
This is a must book!!!
Clean cabin! Many places to sleep! Very relaxing to sit on the deck or in the hot tub and take in the view. Enjoyed being able to walk around the house the explore. Owner was quick to respond and also gave us a tip about the drive way that helped very much throughout the stay. Go to the top and turn around and enter the driveway! Enjoyed this house and was glad to be able to stay here.
Overall completely amazing, clean, modern cabin with all/most amenities we needed. Semi secluded for a community with more space and privacy between other cabins than we expected. Very steep driveway and mountainous windy, hilly roads to access the property which the owner does disclose with your booking. We stayed 2 nights with our 2 teens and all of us had a wonderful time -oudoor firepit, oversized fuzzy blankets, hot tubbing under the stars, it was all so relaxing.
We were in all of the Bercher as soon as we arrived we all had to get out of the car and just enjoy the view, and be amazed at our accommodations and where it was. We had lots of fun, hot tubbing to grilling steaks on the barbecue to join sitting around the fire pit and viewing the meteor shower. Julie was most accommodating and friendly. Thank you Julie we’ll be back.
Great peaceful setting within proximity of plenty to do. Short drive to Sylvan Lake where we hiked up Black Elk Peak. Shorter drive to the reservoir to swim for the day. For some reason the Bear Gulch access gate was closed so that was a bummer. And the house needs a cheese grater. ;) Would recommend.
Julie was an amazing host. It was easy to contact her and we could tell she really loves this home and wanted us to enjoy our stay. The views from this home were amazing. And you could hike right behind the cabin. We loved exploring the area around the cabin. Sitting on the large deck by the fire or in the hot tub soaking in the beauty of the hills was so peaceful. The cabin itself worked so well for our family. The driveway is very steep —we ended up having to go to the top of the hill and turn around to be able to turn up into the driveway at an angle that worked for our Dodge Ram pickup. I would say a 4 wheel drive does make this easier. The cabin and location was totally worth getting up and down that driveway. We enjoyed the drive up and down the mountain everyday and the views. We stayed for five nights and just hated to leave. Thank you for a wonderful stay Julie!
We had an amazing week stay at the Bercher! This house was a perfect getaway from the big city, plenty of room for us all, including 3 teenagers! The views from the balcony were amazing (including all the sounds of nature right outside to listen to), the house was clean, comfy and the host was amazing to work with! The location was perfect! Getting to the house was a little nerve wrenching when you are not used to the terrain. After the firstvfews trips in and out we were pros! The driveway was steep, we had a minivan and it did make the hill just fine. We did take the advice from other reviews and drive to the end of the road to turn around and come back because we would not had made it up the driveway any other way! No the less it was do-able and well worth the drive! The house itself was clean. It had everytjing we needed, including a hair straightener which my girls loved doing their hair! The kitchen was fully stocked with what we needed for any cooking we did. Towels and such for showering and use of the hotub was plentiful. The washer and dryer were a bonus because we ended needing to use it.g we needed to make our week easy and enjoyable!! The hotub was Defhst was easy to contact and very friendly. We traveled through the night from Michigan and were able to get into the house a bit early which was very helpful on our end because we were all exhausted. We were very thankful it was able to work out! Overall we had an amazing trip, and would definitely come again!!
My family absolutely felt welcome, at peace, and completely comfortable at "The Bercher". Loved the place. I fully recommend. If you are a little nervous about driving up a large hillside, it might not be for you. But, as a Montana mountain man, even with driving a minivan, I was not worried at all. It's a great house. Great views. We had a fantastic time. Thanks.
It was a beautiful , quiet haven for my husband and I! Would highly recommend this property! It was well furnished and great communication with the host...
