Thunderhead Falls Log Home
This log cabin has a great layout, wonderful creek in the backyard, and is in a prime location for hiking and popular attractions.
The stay was very good and the house was beautiful. The location was great and had wildlife walking through the backyard. The creek was nice to listen to as we relaxed in the hot tub. Overall, it was a good experience.
Beautiful home with an amazing location! It's easy to access many tourist attractions from this home. This home is also perfect for a relaxing getaway. We enjoyed the hottub nightly and fished out of the river daily. Our kids loved the pool table! Will definitely raengain!

Beautiful and relaxing
We really enjoyed our stay at Thunderhead Falls Lodge. The home is beautiful inside and out. The creek behind the home is gorgeous and the sound is peaceful. The home is clean and comfortable. We were close to everything both in the Black Hills as well as downtown Rapid City. We highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely beautiful!
This property is absolutely beautiful! It was perfect to access and to any and all attractions in the areas. The family had a great time and would definitely come back! Ron was very accessible and took care of and issues in an expeditiously. Could not have asked for a better vacation!
Lots of room to move around indoors, sadly no AC in upstairs master bedroom, lots of repair problems and would not rent in summer , lots of bugs indoors, outdoor spaces in disrepair and not cleaned on check in
Kids loved pool table, saved us.
The place was great. Bigger than the pictures suggest. Has all the amenities and comfort you could ask for when traveling. Nice beds and pillows, blankets for the couches, fully stocked kitchen utensils with oils salt pepper etc, detergent and fabric softener for the washer/dryer, beach towels for the creek/hot tub etc. You can tell they try to make you comfortable. Some maintenance issues, mainly the deck and bridge, but that's clearly being worked on. Our only real complaint is the toilet paper which was not much better than what you'd get at a rest stop on the highway. And maybe a better/bigger living room tv. The p;ace is so big it's hard to see the tv unless you're sitting close to it.

A quiet mountain retreat
My group of 4 adults really enjoyed the peace and quiet of this cabin. We had been traveling for 2 1/2 weeks and were happy to have such a lovely setting to relax in for a few days before heading back home. We all loved the back porch and the daily duck/duckling, goose/gosling parade on the river!
We used this cabin as a launching pad for Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park and Badlands NP. All were an easy drive.
Rapid City is a lovely town. The people we encountered were kind and friendly. The town seems to have a park or green space on almost every corner!
We cooked most of our meals but did try Tampico Mexican Restaurant, which is less than a mile from the cabin. It was delicious!
The reason for 4/5 stars was there were a few concerns with the cabin which I addressed privately. Nothing severe but just room for a little improvement.
I would stay here again. 😊

Lovely home in quiet area
It is centrally located, so easy to get to all the small towns and attractions.
The wifi didn’t work our whole stay. The host tired to get it back on, but still nothing unfortunately. The house was definitely lacking normal supplies, toilet paper, light bulbs, sinks clogged. The location and setting is beautiful though.
A beautiful, secluded location with a creek running through it. We had no TV but didn’t need it, hot tub and pool table were a plus.We spent most of our time out and about seeing all the sights and activities around us.Kids said it was the best ever!
The property is a great location, remote but very close to Rapid City. The creek outside is amazing, great view, and easy trailers for our ATVs. So relaxing - I will go back.
