"This is by any definition a magnificent property and it it is so beautiful and so well managed that any criticisms feel like nit picking. The staff cannot do enough, the rooms a lovely and the property itself is unforgettable. The only complaint is that the rooms are exceedingly dark and they would do well to either provide higher wattage bulbs or install reading lights on the beds. "

"The property is a charming historic hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool was lovely as well, though it was a bit chilly to use it. We enjoyed sitting beside it. Our room was well appointed though cosy. People who enjoy a spacious room would want to specify that when booking. The restaurant is excellent. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner."

"We chose the Hotel de Bordeaux for our visit to Bergerac for its location and amenities. It did not disappoint; excellent and helpful staff, brilliant location with an easy walk to the old city, a private secure car park, quiet comfortable room, and a good breakfast. "Booked a room for seven nights, but checked out after the first night. It was incredibly hot that week, around 105 degrees. The room had no air conditioning, or fans. The windows could not be open during the evening because there were no screens in the windows and with the mosquitoes and bats flying around that was not an option. It was cooler outside than in the room. When I decided to check out the following day the staff were apologetic, but there was nothing they could do. The resort, as of now has not offered a refund for the remaining six nights."

"Horrible checkin process. Also your room has to pass inspection before you check-out or your 100 euro deposit is not refunded. Also you have to make and strip beds and haul the sheets and towels out."
