About this property
Walk to town 39B Alpine Chalet
Walk to Town 39B Alpine Chalet is a self-contained two bedroom holiday home on Lomond Crescent, Queenstown, with stunning lake and mountain views, alpine character, and direct access to the Ben Lomond walking and mountain biking trail from the front door. Sleeping up to five guests, it suits couples, small families, or a group of friends looking for a central Queenstown base with genuine character, a private deck, and easy access to everything the town has to offer.
The interior has a warmth that sets it apart from standard holiday accommodation. Painted timber beams throughout give the chalet an authentic alpine feel alongside modern finishes and a fully equipped kitchen. Two bedrooms, one bathroom, and an open plan kitchen and living area that flows out to a private deck and patio with views over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables. Every bed is made up with crisp white linen and electric blankets — a detail that matters in Queenstown where evenings turn cold quickly regardless of the season.
The private deck extends the living space naturally and makes the most of the outlook. It is the kind of spot where you find yourself sitting longer than planned, whether over a morning coffee or an evening drink as the light fades across the mountains.
Central Queenstown is a short walk downhill, putting the lakefront, Steamer Wharf, Queenstown Gardens, restaurants, bars, and the gondola base station all within easy reach on foot. The Ben Lomond Trail starts from the front door, making this an ideal base for walkers and mountain bikers. For day trips further afield, Arrowtown is a 25 minute drive, Coronet Peak ski field approximately 30 minutes, and The Remarkables around 40 minutes.
For larger groups, Walk to Town 39A Alpine Chalet within the same building sleeps five and is available to book separately through QT Luxe Stays.
Walk to Town 39B Alpine Chalet includes free Wi-Fi, dedicated off-street parking, and a private outdoor deck and dining area. Available for direct booking through QT Luxe Stays.
A one-off service fee of $180 applies per stay, covering professional cleaning and premium linen.

Fun spot with amazing views...hope you have strong legs because quite a HILL climb back to the place but seems everything in Queenstown has a hill!! super spot
Great views, and a short walk into the town centre or the lakeshore.
Clean and comfortable and nicer than the photos.
The driveways is exciting if someone’s coming the opposite way!
5 minutes with an Allan key and the shower screen door could be fixed.

Beautiful view, lovely outdoor area to enjoy it. Everything you need for a lovely holiday in Queenstown. Walking distance to town as long as you don’t mind a few uphill bits.
Classic updated mountain chalet experience with awesome views, 10-minute trail hike out the back door to beautiful waterfall and canyon, and 5-10-minute walk to waterfront bars and restaurants, and stores. I stayed a month and enjoyed the entire experience.

My shoes were left behind and they claimed they didn’t find them.
We went straight from the airport to the rental and no where else before checking out. I was wearing my shoes at the airport and into the rental. My whole group is positive I left my shoes just inside the door. As soon as I realized, just a few hours after check out, I wrote the manager to collect them. It took several hours for a reply and all I got was a short “ our cleaner said there were no shoes”. I asked if they could check again and haven’t heard back in 24 hours. It’s my fault for leaving them behind but it is dishonest to say they weren’t found as there is no where else they could possibly be. That kind of dishonesty makes this a place I would not recommend or stay again.
The view from the property was breath taking, and it is within walking distance into the CBD.
The bedding felt clean and fresh, the house had no odour, but lounge room and the kitchen didn’t give me that feeling probably due to the age of the property and the evidence of stains on the sofa.
The bathroom felt rundown, cheap supermarket shampoo and soaps, the taps were difficult to use and children unfriendly.
The kitchen lacks oil, paper towels or tissue.
Given the cost of the accommodation, I find it hard to believe that this is the standard of accommodation in Queenstown.
