"I loved location to center of town. Right across the street is the beach. Staff was excellent, welcoming, accomodating. Air conditioning was great. Tv did not work. The building seemed old, but my room was clean. Pool also on property was refreshing. So, ok but I would check other hotels , I have no real basis for comparison, maybe all are old. They could make outer building more attractive. Thank you."

"We had a wonderful 3 night stay. The location, the room, the pool, the staff were all very good. We saw some very negative and very positive reviews and so we were very curious about how our stay would be. We are Marriott Platinum Elite Members and this property is not one of the finer Marriott properties, but it could have been a nice Marriott property with all of the amenities. We were very pleasantly surprised. We will stay here again."

"Excellent staff and the property is reminiscent of a resort more so than a hotel/stay. Access to beach is extremely easy, attached to the backside of the property, though the beachfront is not 'developed' or 'set up' so do not expect a resort-like sun-chair set up. Excellent location if you want to be away from the hustle bustle of puerto viejo, but still biking distance to get to all the shops and cafes. Fabiano at the front desk, and Rosita for breakfast service, were both absolute delights and extremely helpful :)"

"We had the best stay at awa!! The property is very tastefully done , location on the beach is perfect , breakfast and just food overall (including the coffee) overall is delicious, and I can’t say enough good things about the staff , esp. Johnny .. he went out of his way to help us with some last minute booking changes that we would’ve otherwise stressed about. I also asked the reception staff about the amazing coffee they serve and they were kind enough to give me a sample !! Overall very relaxing and enjoyable stay and totally worth it !! Highly recommend AWA and we hope to be back"

"We absolutely loved the property. It's quiet, the pool is nice and everything is well kept. It's walking distance to the beach and there is an access point at the end of the road. The wildlife on/around the property is amazing! This was our third trip to CR and we saw more on this property than we had in the previous locations/tours we had visited combined!! The parks are all just a short drive and there are a few cool walks really close. The property sits on a large hill and will give you a workout going back up from the beach. If you have problems walking then you will not wank to walk up. The road experienced some erosion recently so make sure you get a 4x4. Trust me when I tell you, a van is not a great idea!! We loved just sitting on the deck and relaxing looking out to the sea. It's really a great place to unwind. There are a lot of great restaurant choices very close by that are very convenient. Several grocery stores nearby too."
