"Friendly owner, the amenities are dated, but clean. The room was always cold. No smoke detector. The wifi was extremely limited, almost dialup speed, and you had to stand in the right spot. "

"OVER AND BEYOND: After a two night stay here, we were already very happy with the property and with Sarah’s friendliness, helpfulness and wealth of knowledge about the area. Then on the day we were leaving to head to Puerto Natales, we were involved in a car accident, so needed to get another rental car and stay another night in Punta Arenas. We called Sarah to see if there was still a vacancy for the night and she instantly volunteered to come out and meet us to assist as an interpreter for us with the other driver, police, rental car representative, etc. Her help with this was indispensable and she spent several hours with us. If you want to stay at a nice place where the owner really cares about people (and the environment), this is the place for you."
"My stay at La Yegua Loca was nothing short of wonderful. The hotel is a beautiful tribute to Patagonia’s ranching history — every detail tells a story. From the handcrafted furniture to the creative lighting and rustic textures, you can feel the spirit of Magallanes woven in every corner.
What made it truly unforgettable were the people. Everyone I met went above and beyond with such kindness and care that it felt less like a hotel stay and more like being welcomed into someone’s home.
And the food — simply outstanding. The breakfast, included with the stay, was generous and delicious, and their restaurant is exceptional. Both lunch and dinner were beautifully prepared, full of authentic flavor and creativity. The cuisine alone would be worth a visit.
La Yegua Loca is a special place — beautiful, comfortable, and filled with warmth. I would come back without hesitation and recommend it to anyone visiting Punta Arenas."
"Everything was excellent and this hostal served breakfast beginning at 4:00 am. This breakfast time was very helpful to me since my full day tour started at 5:15 am.
Thank you Hostal Cordillera for the breakfast, the clean room, and the warm welcome from the people that work in this hostal. "
