I love everything about Tintorera, all the people making my experience in Isabela amazing. The breakfast is delicious and sharing where all their organic food comes from was also an amazing experience. Hope to return soon, thank you so much

For the price, it's very ok I should say. Property is "far" from center or ferry port, but the whole town is very small, the "far" is only 4 blocks away, 5 minutes walking, so, this is not a problem. The overall environment is quiet and you live in a garden with a couple of small yard with healthy plant. You can hear dog barking (there seems no way to avoid anywhere in island). We don't call it noisy. The noisy is actually from construction. If not in construction season, probably much better. And some add-on benefit staying here is: The host seems overall organize the Volcano hiking tour, he prepared the lunch box for the tour as well. And the hiking tour we booked from him directly is $35/p.p. The tour bus is parking in this property. Due to the ongoing construction, hotel have working noisy the whole day when we stay. Which might also the reason result the room is cover by dust. And seems not all room ready to welcome guest, missing a lot of necessity. But you can ask for and they would fix it immediately. And for some bad lucky, 1 of the room having bedbug, but another room is ok. And the shower not working in 1 room, after we reported to host, who move us to another room, which was having much better shower water flow. Check out time is 10am, but we were allowed to stay till 1pm for free to catch our flight scheduled on 2pm. Which is very friendly and appreciated. Staff are very nice and helpful. Overall, I should say, we get what we paid. :)

We really enjoyed staying at this hostel. Very clean room full of natural light, good shower. The service excellent with a wonderful breakfast. The owner always ready to help and answer any questions. Highly recommended

Amazing stay!
The best hotel in the Galapagos! The room were so nice, clean, bright and had everything we could wish for (AC, space, towels, shampoo etc). The breakfast was lovely and the courtyard as well. There was a water refill which was so useful. The staff was so nice, on our last day we left at 5am so couldn’t have breakfast and the owner gave us a lunch box to take with us. So lovely!!!! Wish we could have stayed longer. Also they organise tours which we wished we had known about. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Great place to stay - comfortable bed and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Easy to walk to the beach. Only downside was all the loud dogs in the neighborhood barking in the night - take earplugs if you’re a light sleeper! This has been the case at other places I’ve stayed in Galapagos that are more in the neighborhoods, so is not unique to this property. I recommend this place.

I really enjoyed staying here and the property had a wonderful feel and so much safety. The room was clean and fresh and they cleaned between my stay as well. Check in was easy and seamless and informative. The breakfast was really nice with fresh fruit juice, coffee, bread, jam, fresh papaya, watermelon, bananas. Out of the main downtown it was a simple 5 blocks to walk to the bustling area of downtown for dining. Really enjoyed and would stay again. Loved the spiral staircase and Also loved the volleyball and basketball courts a block away and went to watch volleyball each night.

Loved Isabela and loved this hostel
Absolutely wonderful staff and family. Great room. Fast service if I ever needed a taxi or shuttle. Super sweet staff that truly brings a smile to your face with their attitude towards the work they do. Only recommendation would be breakfast options. Breakfast is delicious but eggs come one way and not many protein options. 100% would come back here and recommend to anyone.

Best hotel management
The hotel manager made our stay. We got into an odd situation where a vendor booked a tour for the tunnels that didn’t exist and she helped us get our money back. She went above and beyond for us and made our trip much better. The hostal has free breakfast and is the start of where the bus for the volcano tours pick up. It also has a free bus to the ferry in the afternoon. We had a great stay here.

It was exactly what we needed to sleep and shower for the couple nights the 3 of us were there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I believe they are adding on but we were gone on excursions during the day and were not bothered by any construction noise. Breakfast included was lovely and slightly different each day.

Amazing family run unique travel experience
This was a last minute back packing trip for us from US. Isabella is the least populous of the three major islands. The owner Cecelia is quite popular and influential on the Island. Being non Spanish speaking, we anticipated some challenges but Cecelia and her family made sure we felt at home. We have stayed at several premium luxury hotel chains - this was a very unique cultural experience with two teenagers. Farm fresh breakfast with papaya (they have their own farm) was heavenly. They tailor made trips for us. Hard working, down to earth and very generous family. Leave your ego at home and be ready to enjoy the island life the Ecuadorian way. Just be kind.

Noisy neighborhood
It was noisy at night with many barking dogs in the next door neighbors yards. Staff was good. Room was large and nicely decorated. Hotel was always clean. Breakfast was unimaginative and the coffee was not strong.

The host family was very helpful and friendly - helped us with tour bookings and laundry. Also because we had to leave super early for a morning ferry to another island, the host even prepared a bag of snacks and drinks for each of us the night before. Very thoughtful!

Highly Recommended!
The family that owns the place is incredibly friendly and accommodating. They helped us book a volcano tour/hike which was wonderful as well as ferry tickets, taxi, and recommendations for other things to do while we were on the Island. Location is great too, close to everything but in a quiet part of town. We would definitely stay here again

The staff at this very inexpensive hostal were fantastic! Friendly, super helpful and with a delicious sense of humour. Our air on wasn’t working so they immediately moved us to another room which was clean, comfortable and cool! They made us a delicious breakfast, sorted out taxis to collect and drop off and were altogether marvellous.

Young guy at the front desk was wonderful. And his mother seemed very nice (maybe the owner? Not sure as she didn’t speak English) However, the housekeeping staff were not friendly- never left towels, toilet paper and soap, and frequently we could not find anyone to give us some. Sheets were dirty, and the last night they forgot to put a blanket on my son’s bed. Very noisy very early in the morning (started around 5:30) with dogs barking and children yelling.

Great value for the price. All fresh ingredents for breakfast. We loved the side visit to the farm, thanks Luis. Carmen was very friendly and helped us with our Spanish. 20 minute walk to pier and Concha de Perla for great snorkeling. Staff arranged tours to Las Tuneles and Tintoria. Don't miss these. Several tasty restaurants facing the main street across from the town square. Try the set menus for $7. OK WIFI, water took about 5 minutes to get warm. We LOVED Isabella, thanks Cecilia, Luis, and Carmen.

Fernando was a fantastic host. He was exceptionally attentive and is a lovely and kind man. We were catching an early morning flight before breakfast hours and Fernando had prepared us a packed breakfast for our trip, a lovely and unexpected gesture. The hotel is in a great location and is clean with a great bathroom and hot water. It’s quiet and relaxing. I would definitely stay again when back in Isabela.

Beautiful island, wonderful stay
The hostel is great, friendly staff. We had a delayed flight to San Cristobal and Fernando was very nice and helpful keeping our bags and offering a nice shower after extra beach time!

Run by Ceci and Abita, the hotel is close to shops, restaurants, beach. The rooms are clean; breakfast is provided in the mornings. Brush up your Spanish because no one speaks another language and that can be a challenge as you negotiate various tours and prices. The women organize tours and pick ups happen right outside the front door so that is convenient. Internet is spotty at the hotel. If you need to check something online, our suggestion is to go to a near by cafe where there's free wifi and complete your work. Also if you booked online, it is possible the hotel expects you to pay on site. Check your bookings prior to going there since it is not always possible to access your records online due to weak network. Not sure if local ATMs work. The town is walkable and Abita can recommend places to visit or eat meals at. All in all it can be a pleasant stay; network connection is an issue even though one is vacationing. Ceci and Abita are very warm people and we wish them both the very best.

There is a breakfast buffet (bread, eggs, fruit, yogurt/granola, coffee, juice) in the morning and timed so that you can eat prior to your early morning tours. Rooms in the 'main' area get windows and patios, whereas other rooms off the side of the property do not. This is not necessarily a total dealbreaker for these side-rooms but having the option of a breeze passing through at night would have been nice. In general though this was a generally pleasant hotel in a quiet area. It is situated toward the outside edge of town, but the town itself is not very large so you're near everything.

Excellent stay in Isabela
We really enjoyed our 3-night stay at this family-run hotel. Cecilia helped organize our tours and activities while on the Island, picking some of the best. Our room was spacious and spotless clean. Breakfast was good, with fresh fruit and juice, cereals, bread, and eggs. Albita took care of our every need. Even coordinating our laundry. Great location in town. Would definitely recommend!

Exceptional staff
Wonderful place to stay. We can't say enough about time here. Very welcoming staff. Juan Carlos helped to arrange airport transport and our marine tour. We were always greeted with a smile by all the staff. Thank you to everyone. We will never forget our time on Isabela. Beautiful island.

Fabulous and cheap room
The room is clean and spacious. The bed is big, comfy and all the necessary amenities are provided. The breakfast includes fruit, juice, bread and egg. The owner is helpful. They also have Sierra Negras and Los Tuneles tour so it is very convenient.

Good stay
Hotel appears to be a brand new one with large rooms. Breakfast was good with scrambled eggs, bread with fruit spread and butter, fresh watermelon and papaya and 3 types of fresh juices. Only issue was the building has spiral steps and carrying big luggage was little difficult. Have to take a taxi from port to reach the place but everything else is walkable.

Super friendly hostal
Gran Hostal Tinorera was wonderful. Very clean and spacious room, and extremely friendly and helpful staff. The owner made sure that we were comfortable and helped us with booking the tickets for the tours and ferries. Definitely made our stay in Isla Isabela memorable.
