Wonderful, lowkey place to stay on Kauai’s north shore. The host was very communicative and helpful. The previous concerns about mold were not an issue and the host has replaced the shower curtain. The hot tub, pool, and designed parking were a big plus. Would definitely stay here again in the future given the convenient location, proximity to beaches and retail, etc!

Great location
We like staying in Princeville, then going west around Hanalei and east around Kilauea for dinner, beaches and such. The unit is a nice size, great king bed w good linens, and stocked w basics for 'kitchenette', including a nice size fridge. Nice lanai and nice tiled bathroom. Drawbacks were moldy shower curtain and somewhat older carpet. Air-conditioner works well.

We ended up moving out and staying somewhere else as the mold was terrible there. We kept getting headaches every time we came back after the day trips. There was mold on the shower curtains, in the carpet around fridge, etc. The carpet was old and filthy. The freezer had almost two inches of ice buildup and was dirty. There isn’t a kitchen at the place unlike when it was marked under amenities. No kitchen sink or dining table. It was not possible to prepare food before using the grill. On the lanai there’s like 20 surf boards which was tacky. So bummed that this caused us to pack up and find a different place. This place should be reported to the health department!

Princeville
Very nice condo, close to dining and within a few minutes of some great beaches. Parking was right outside the unit; everything was just as listed and our stay was great, without a single problem. The “classic” surfboards above the lanai were awesome!

Honestly, we were very shocked at the condition of the property; we were very disappointed. The room was not as shown in the photo. The carpet was so very dirty and strained. The room smelled horrible, and there was no soap at all. While the pillows and bed were comfortable, the bedspread did not smell clean, and there were several stains on the bed skirt. I was overall very disappointed with the room, especially for the price we paid. I am not one to leave a bad review, and honestly don't think I ever have, but some small improvements like new carpet or flooring, having clean linens, and some soap would help make this place go a long way.

The room was clean and it was a decent amount of space for us as we didn’t spend much time in our unit. Our only real complaint was that we had to fix our A/C unit while we were there because the hose was so badly broken that it was blowing very hot air back into the room. We ended up having to buy tape and a pliers to fix the hose enough so it would actually cool the room to a comfortable temperature. We got a notice on our door during the stay stating that people would be coming into our room one of the days that we had rented the room for to do a termite inspection. That made us very uncomfortable. We decided to just always have our belongings packed up and locked in our luggage when we were away. That was very fortunate because we didn’t get to feel very comfortable about our rental while we were away from it.

Good Location
We liked Princeville, although it was very far from most attractions. The area was mostly tourists in a mix of golf course homes and condos. Our condo had a parking lot assigned, which was wonderful. The room itself was dated, the carpet was stained and looked like it's never been shampooed and we had instructions to take the trash out every night but we could not find any trash bags. We had one set of towels each for three nights stay, which we tried to air dry.

Princeville - Kauai island Jaunt.
Had a good experience. Communication prior to arrival was very good. Arrived on time at 4 but room wasn’t ready. Contacted host and they had someone clean it up. Was delayed about 90 minutes. Contact with host was good but after travelling all day and already having a late check in, you can easily become frustrated. Some of the property rules are tight, with noise and trash but abidable. Appliances need fixing ( coffee maker, made a 1/4 cup and leaked ) microwave ( hard grinding sound ) fridge ( moisture inside ) but they all got the job done. Princeville is a very non-Hawaiian area, but enjoyed it the same. Not really easy access walk to the beaches as I thought. But if you want to get away from people , this is a good place. As mentioned host was very attentive to our needs prior to actual check in.

Very nice low priced (for Kauai) place
It has the basics. Small fridge, toaster and coffee maker. Very clean. I am very mold sensitive and was concerned about renting a place, but this place had no mold at all.

Great Visit!
Great location in Kauai. The check in process was easy, loved the on site parking, and the community we stayed in was super safe. There's a great walking path by the golf course which was always being used. Minutes from restaurants and a grocery store. Beaches were about a 15 minute drive, at least to one's that were not to busy. Would stay again.

Great location with a lot of potential!
Unfortunately the unit is not at all clean. Thick dust on the back of the tv as well as the fan. Carpet should be removed, it disgustingly dirty. Mold in shower and on shower curtain! Should have removed all personal items from under the sink (fleet enema - gross).

Princeville at a good price
Overall this was a great home base while exploring the north coast. Owner was good communicator throughout the process. Check in was easy and the flat had everything we needed, although decor seemed a bit dated. Pool and hot tub were a bonus! No problems at all.

Great condo in one of the best parts of the North side of Kaua'i
This was a wonderful place to stay for a week as a home-base for sleeping and coming back in between excursions/beach time! It is in a great location, is as-advertised, and Jack made the process very easy for us. Small tweaks could be made to improve the overall quality of the living environment, and it is important to know there is no kitchen (no stove or oven) when planning your stay and meals. Overall the space was nice, we always had parking, and it was a relaxing place to come home to- Mahalo Jack!

You get what you pay for
Location is very good. Sheets had blood stain (I did contact housekeeper and she brought over fresh ones). The bath towels were old and smelled (no additional towels were provided for 6 night stay). Cobwebs . Carpet needs cleaning. One of the beach chairs was broken.

Wonderful and quiet stay in Princeville!
We needed somewhere to stay for the first 2 days of our trip and this place was perfect. An adorable little studio with all basic necessary amenities! A very calm little balcony with seats was enjoyed, I sat out there each morning with coffee and a book. Host was very responsive, kind, and helpful! Thank you!!! :)

Great Studio
This property worked great for our needs. Located next to a golf course in a resort-like area a short drive to spots like the Queen's Bath and Hanalei. As the owner notes, there's no kitchen but they did supply silverware and coffee which was helpful. We like eating out on vacation so this wasn't an issue. It's a basic but nice little studio. Especially when compared to options even twice as expensive, this is a find. Owner was super nice and we didn't have any issues. Would definitely stay again.

Worst. Vrbo. Ever.
First of all, there is no kitchen. The description says "kitchen", but there is no stove and no sink and no area set aside for preparing or serving food. Secondly, very poor communication. We tried to contact the owner when we first arrived. His phone didn't even work. We needed a parking pass. He did not get us one or explain what to do or even reply to our inquiries at all. When we did actually talk to him about our legitimate complaints, he was dismissive and defensive. There were several other less severe problems, such as the glass door that would not lock and a missing light bulb.

These 2 elderly ladies were terrible. They called, texted, VRBOd, complained to VRBO more than like my last 50 customers combined. No where does it say we have a kitchen. They threatened me with a bad review if I did not give them a refund. There is absolutely a sink, pathetic. My phone always works as much as anyone else’s. Where I hang out during surf season: the Back Channel on the beach at Hanalei Bay by the Princeville hotel; has a dead zone that comes and goes. I’m usually in the wata anyway and sometimes am not available sorry. My housekeeper whose number is provided, please do not abuse her like these ladies did, is also usually on the property like me. I mean if it’s that critical an immediate problem???? There’s Sandpiper Mgt, Princeville Security,and a police station less than a mile away. Most people who stay with me, they don’t want to deal with anybody. They never contact me, I never see them even though I am next door attached and share a front pourch. Most of my guest are very happy. And I really try to please everyone. But these 2, they were just pathetic. Jack😀

The location was great, and the place perfect for two people. However, the place wasn’t cleaned yet by the time we were supposed to check in, and we got parking violation notices twice when there is reserved parking. Otherwise everyone was good, and we had a great time.

This property is very much like a motel with no room service It is absolutely not like a vacation home although they charged for cleaning fee, service fee... This is a point. bath towels are old and ugly color Provided only 2 beach towels for 2 people for 3 days. I texted to ask more but nothing more no bath soap. asked but nothing provided no hair dryer. I asked then they gave me the super aged one. I scared and felt unsafe to use coffee has no creamer lock of sliding door broken. I felt unsafe while sleeping so my husband used a surf and table to lock

Very weird,lame review. Two stars is pathetic for what you get. Hand washing and bath soap is provided. We do not provide hair dryer but I gave her mine when requested, obviously not very appreciative. I give more towels when requested. She never requested more towels. In 6 years no one has ever complained about security. The front door is locked and no one can get to this upstairs lani. Princeville/Sandpiper is a classic resort community, in a very small town remote kind of place. It’s safe. Sandpiper also has private Security. Does not sound like this person likes Hawaii, weird.

Nous sommes restés 8 jours à cette demeure. L'emplacement était très bien, le quartier est beau et c'est plaisant de s'y promener. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié avoir un stationnement, la piscine et le BBQ. La communication avec l'hôte était bien et rapide. Toutefois, ce logement a vraiment besoin d'un rafraîchissement. Le tapis est sale, il y a une forte odeur qui a persisté durant tout notre séjour, les chaises de plages étaient brisés. De plus, ne réservez pas ce logement si vous avez l'intention de cuisiner, il manque beaucoup d'éléments (aucun savon vaisselle et/ou éponge pour laver, aucun linge pour essuyer la vaisselle, pas d'ouvre-canne, etc.). Personnellement, je ne recommanderai pas de louer ce logement.

This studio unit was a great place to stay on our visit to Princeville. The air conditioner was much appreciated as it was fairly warm and humid during our stay. The only slight negative was that the property manager was slow to respond to texts and VRBO messages on our day of arrival and during the stay. We had received the key box code by e-mail several months before our stay, but I had wanted to confirm it because of the amount of time that had passed, and we were arriving late in the evening. We received a text message reply 3 hours later. During our stay we needed to do laundry and I texted asking if there was an on site laundry facility we could use. I didn’t receive a reply until the next day when we were checking out. It really was a nice place to stay though.

If you are looking to stay near Hanalei Bay, this is the place you want to get!!. It’s convenient, clean, affordable and the check in/check out process was amazing. You can walk to turtle cove from the apartment complex!

Great location and was what I expected
Nice to have chairs, boogie boards and chairs. Also pair towels were greatly appreciated. Would have been nice to have shampoo/ conditioner but maybe that's not usually included in VRBO listing. Also dish soap and towel would be nice.
