"This property has a big problem that you only realise on arrival. There are 134 narrow and steep steps (around 8 storeys) to climb to bring up your luggage (and groceries during your stay). When travelling with an infant and a pregnant wife this is far from ideal. Once you make it up, though, the view pays off the climb. It is stunning! "The property is spectacularly situated, but is somewhat difficult to find, one has to cross the neighbours’ ground to approach. The appartment was reasonably tidy, but the furniture needs refurbishment. The lower compartiment is used for storage of garden equipment and is severely smelling (fuel damps of the grassmower) and can therefore not be used as a sleeping facility. Great place to stay in great tiwn
"Lovely boutique room, so close to the centre of the old town, and easy walk from the station (10 minutes and this with luggage on wheels). Breakfast 8-10, well presented, nice breakfast in charming room. Our host, Anna, was terrific- easy check in, had already advised on best way for us to get from Domodossola to Milan/Malpensa airport when departing so we had out bus tickets booked and so easy transfer to the airport (bus from station, direct), and she provided all assistance requested. As we needed to leave early, she provided early breakfast, and then offered to drive us to the station- we didn’t need this but lovely offer. Domodossola a remarkable little town, Saturday markets take over the town, and bars, restaurants buzzing. We had great meals and wines, and the stay at NicoMat made it all so accessible with great host. And the train from Locarno to Domodossola a must!"
