"VMH has been a place where my family has vacationed since 2010 and this time around we found the accommodations to be subpar. If you’re looking for a room at the beach , this is a good one , but after having issues with the reservation and getting two random rooms, not what we called and agreed with on the phone with a representative, twice, we ended up leaving and staying somewhere else. In addition during the week the security is weak and a group of people in the villa above where partying till 4 am with no security answering phone or doing rounds to keep the noise down. It was a terrible first night and the party folks became aggressive and started insulting me when I asked them to keep it down. Sadly a poor experience here. I recommend that you book by calling the Parador. They do not know what to do with these reservations online. They mix everything up. Better call them. "

"I am not sure where to begin. Elaine, is an incredible attentive host. Not only are the attention to details obvious, it's that she truly cares about her guests. She called me the day of my arrival to make everything was going okay. My flight had been cancelled due to the storm and wanted to make sure everything was okay. Due to the two day change in my arrival, she was also very flexible in supporting some changes. Her response time for questions was excellent from beginning to end.Now the location! To say this place is special is an understatement. The decor is elegantly simple and reflects the spirit of the property. One of the things that drew me to the location was that it is a nature preserve and she is working hard to make sure there is a balance of comfort in the villas but also an awareness of how we all impact our environment. (so sorry for the styrofoam cooler puchase...such an ice girl) The villas are beautiful and comfortable as well as welcoming. So nice to be in a space where you don't have to worry about loud evenings.I'm an introvert so crowds can be a challenge for me, This location was a perfect combination for me so I could be secluded or choose to walk to Jobo's to swim, eat and drink. I did choose to drive a few times but it's such a simple and beautiful walk I did that most of the time. I can't wait to visit you again, Elaine. "Clean room and quick response from host. The only thing is I would mention that not everything is walking distance. Jobos beach is walking distance but there’s no 24 hour convenience store to grab the basics- water, snacks, etc- if you don’t have a car. I arrived at 9:30pm and we went to the nearest gas station which was like 3 miles up and we were able to get some water bottles and snacks right before they closed at 10pm. The posting said no car necessary so that felt a little deceiving. Outside of that, I felt very safe, the location was lovely if you want to be near the beach. It was the perfect location for me. "
