Murray House Vacation Home: Pet friendly, mature trees, near the ocean & coast

Leave the accommodations to us! Our cozy, clean, duplex style, country home, is located Pouch Cove, Newfoundland, a small town with its roots in the fishing and farming industries. Murray House Vacation Home is surrounded by an abundance of natural landscapes and has amazing ocean views. Myself and my husband, a senior couple, live in the second side of the duplex and, although respectful of privacy, are available when requested and do our utmost to ensure our guest’s holiday experience is filled with positive memories.

Visitors to our area are impressed by the lack of industrial noise and the pleasing fresh country air, beautiful views, and friendly residents. Also, because Pouch Cove is located just 20 minutes from the city, we are perfectly situated for guests to experience Newfoundland’s unique urban and rural cultures.

Murray House Vacation Home offers in-lane, parking immediately adjacent to the private front entrance. Mature trees form boundaries along the distant perimeter of the property and flowering plants within the garden add distinction and color during the summer season.

Murray House Vacation Home has a huge, enclosed, 3 section, patio. In the summer season, the patio is outfitted with a 4 burner, family sized, propane BBQ and an assortment of patio furniture.

The house’s interior is cozy and captures the feeling of rural living. We have 2 bedrooms (one with a queen bed; the other a double) enabling four guests to sleep comfortably. We are a pet friendly accommodation.

Furnishings inside the house include a portable cooling fan, washer, dryer, fridge, stove, microwave, 4 slice toaster, Keurig and drip coffee machines, pots, pans, slow cooker, dinnerware, utensils, bar height table with 4 chairs, 2 full sized reclining sofas, a coffee table, a flat screen TV on an electric fireplace, and, in each of the two bedrooms, a double bed, 48-inch TV on electric fireplace base, a dresser with mirror, and a portable fan. The master bedroom has a computer table with 2 chairs; the second bedroom, an adjustable height stool and a folding table.

The bathroom has a whirlpool tub / shower. Various cleaners, detergents, linen, shampoo, toilet tissue, and paper towels are included at no extra charge. Our products are not scent free but we welcome guests to bring their own products for personal use if they desire.

We subscribe to high speed wi-fi internet (connection details provided upon arrival).

For day trips and sightseeing opportunities, we are conveniently located near two rugged hiking trails that form part of the renowned East Coast Trail. Each trail is just a five-ten minute walk in either direction from our home, offering an excellent way to explore the natural beauty of the area. While hiking, be sure to keep an eye out for seasonal ocean attractions such as icebergs, whales, and ships that frequently grace our coastal waters.

During the summer months, the mature trees surrounding the property are adorned with lush foliage, which can obscure views of the ocean and coastline. However, during the spring and fall seasons, when foliage is less dense, the view is significantly enhanced. However, from a distance of few minutes walk from the house, there is a fenced picnic / rest area at the ocean's edge, a great place to sit and have a snack while absorbing amazing views. Another viewing area, with picnic table seating and powerful outdoor binoculars, is located behind the town hall.

Birdwatching enthusiasts will appreciate the many species of songbirds and ocean birds that make Pouch Cove their home. We have an established bird feeding station within clear view of the house. The migratory pattern of birds welcomes different species during different seasons of the year. Be sure to keep a well charged camera to capture the essence of your amazing, well-deserved, vacation.
