I spent two quick days in Portsmouth and I lucked out by staying here. The apartment style room was comfortable, clean, and quite its big. The service was excellent. The location was the highlight because everything I needed (coffee, cafe, seafood, shopping) was close by so I save a lot of travel time. It left a great first impression so I’ll be back for a long stay next time.

We had such a wonderful stay at Market Square Inn for our girls’ trip! The location could not have been better,?right in the heart of downtown Portsmouth and within walking distance of the waterfront, Prescott Park, Strawbery Banke, and so many great restaurants, cafés, and shops.
The place was very clean, comfortable and exactly what we needed. Check-in was incredibly easy and seamless, which made our arrival stress-free. We loved being able to walk everywhere without needing to drive. We would absolutely stay here again and will definitely book this on our next trip to Portsmouth!

Excellent communication from our host. Very quick to respond to our questions. The location is great, and walking distance to many shops and restaurants. From there, we walked across the bridge into Kittery, Maine. The heating system was not operating yet, but it was transitioning from summer to Fall. Not a big issue since it wasn't too chilly yet, and they were working on getting it operational as soon as we contacted them. It should be operating now. Parking can cost up to $60 per night in the parking garage nearby, but we found a spot in front of the unit for $3/hr up until 8:00pm, and no charge again until 9:00am. The main issue was not with the unit itself, but the street noise from the street cleaner that made several passes at 5:00 am. Ear plugs would be nice to have. Very clean and comfortable, and the hosts were great. The coffee shop below our unit was also nice to have.
