The property needs a proper looking at. The balcony of some rooms opens on to the road where you can literally hop in. Our balcony doors were all broken so you could have someone walk in through it absolutely with ease. We did not therefore end up using both the rooms as we did not feel comfortable to let kids sleep in a room that could be accessed from the balcony. We ended up cramming all in 1 room. The Food is absolutely NOT 4 star but it seems it is pointless mentioning that as I can see the hotel has bad reviews about its food since 2019 so it seems the kitchen manager/head chef must be a relative of the owners or the owner themselves. If you are a vegetarian or eat just Chicken or white meat, DO NOT book here. I ate just salad and chips for 3 days twice a day as there was literally no alternative. The food tasted really not good either so had to eat everything with ketchup and mayo to get some taste. The staff were incredible though. Very friendly and the swimming pools were great although due to the cold weather, we did not enter the pool even once in a week as it was freezing in the water. Overall, I won't recommend the hotel if you're after food and decor but for staff and facilities, I might come back.

Adequate stay DREADFUL FOOD

Arrived at 11am, and was allowed into our rooms early and was given a bracelet for food and drink straight away which was great. Unfortunately it went down hill fast. The food on the sunday was HORRIFIC, now I am not a picky eater in fact I look at reviews and think these guys are just super picky. but lunch and dinner was possibly the worse food in have ever eaten, it was overcooked and one friend spent 10 minutes chewing one piece of meat. The following two days we ate out for the main meal of the day, however, breakfast was nice on both days and the lunches there after were adequate. Rooms are old fashioned but clean. They did the job for what we wanted them for. The hotel only has one main tv and the evening entertainment was adult focused. (this wasn't an issue for us as we drank in the bars and pubs every night.) locally it is nice a 10 minute walk to the main Alvor town that has all the amenities. BASED PURELY ON THE FOOD I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK.

Great value and great staff

The 2 high points of this hotel are the staff who are all so friendly and helpful and the gardens and pool area are beautiful. It's a bit of a walk to the pubs and beach so we were glad to have a rental car but we would definitely go back.

The hotel was good in parts.

Great staff who went above and beyond. OK rooms with air con and a good bathroom. Disappointed with the restaurant. Hot food was never labelled so everyone had to keep lifting the lids cooling it to see what was there then we had to ask staff what each dish was. A simple label would have solved that. Also breakfast was the same every single day. Great outdoor pool and bar, shame the indoor pool was not heated. Not the location for anyone without a car as it is quite a way out of town. The beaches were fabulous when we did go there.

Hotel de 4 estrelas que na prática devia ser de 3. Pouca variedade de comida, pequeno almoço muito fraco, assistência aos clientes razoável e gentileza e simpatia dos empregados muito fraca. Estado geral do hotel muito degrado, ginásio praticamente inútil tendo em conta que de 6 aparelhos disponíveis apenas 2 trabalhavam, piscina interior degrada, banho turco avariado, enfim valeu apenas pelo preço uma vez que incluía todas as refeições e bebidas. Animação completamente inexistente

A very good stay for the money only downside was the food variety. But amazing location as Alvor is a beautiful little town with amazing bars and restaurants. Would certainly go back but maybe not all inclusive

This hotel is definately not a 4* as described. The hotel rooms are dated and extremely basic. The hotel description was also not entirely accurate. It stated satalite TV . However, my TV had around 8 channels and no english news channel. The description also said toiletries provided. I received 2 sachets of shampoo and shower gel. The hotel also doesnt provide pool towels. The pool area has 2 lovely lakes, it is clean,spacious and beautiful. The pool staff, Daniella and Marcos were lovely, friendly , chatty, very helpful and professional. Oh and Marcos makes a fabulous Gin and Tonic! The food was really nice. Some people complained it wasnt hot enough and used the microwave. There was also a varied selection to choose from and you certainly wouldnt go hungry. The hotel has an indoor pool, a steam room and a sauna. There is also a small gym. You had to ask reception to turn the steam room on and its was set on a timer which had to be activated again by a key and the reception staff. Regardless of that this was a really nice addition to the hotel, especially as the weather was a bit hit and miss. Overall, I found this hotel a pleasant place to stay.I arrived at the hotel for check in at 11.45 pm and they gave me a food parcel, because I had missed dinner. I thought this was a really lovely touch. I would recommend this hotel, but would suggest that you take your own toiletries, and pool towel. The staff are really nice and genuinely helpful.

Dont go there unless you are Portugese...

No Iron in the room. Laundry facility available to iron individual garments at a price per item. Limited swimming towels. I was given a ripped old towel to use for the duration of the holiday. Limited sun beds, had to lie on the lawn Lack of entertainment. Karaoke singing every night, guests sat around doing nothing. It was very boring in the evenings as there was nothing to do close to the hotel. No bars or restaurants. Restaurants were a taxis drive away, but closed around 10am. Very limited things to do. No Games room (i.e. pool table, board games, toys etc) Limited variety of food. In particular around breakfast. Ridiculous waiting time for food at the pool side mini bar, only available between 4-5pm, with at least 45 mins wait. (Chips, burgers and rolls available). Chips served in between breakfast and lunchtime were cardboard cold. The beaches were ok, but not fantastic. Limited restaurants near the beach.
