Apartments in Port Coquitlam

"Arrived following a tiring flight. Person on front desk handed us the keys but gave no directions so we saw we were in East as labelled on key wallet so crossed road outside to east tower and entered lifts but there was no 5th floor so went back to East tower lobby who told us that we should go back to where we started. We took escalator to find lift, got in to find that our key wouldnt let us select the 5th floor and instead lift went to 6th floor then back to 1st. Guests who got in lift stopped it at 5th floor but we find room numbers were higher than our assigned room so we went back to lobby to find a second elevator and this time key worked and we found our room. Overall room and hotel seem jaded and rather darkly decorated. Tried to lower the room temperature on the thermostat but it didnt seem to work as room temperature did not change.We had asked at reception about dining options and were told that there was a hotel restaurant with a range of options but that the Gordon Ramsay restaurant wasn't part of the hotel. Our son had stayed here previously and told us there was a food court which we eventually located at the back of the casino adjacent to the door to the smokers patio so everytime the door opened tobacco smoke could be smelt coming in. The 3 food court fast food counters were not very inspiring but the lady who served us was very pleasant. As for the casino itself it was probably the most depressing place I have spent time and we could not wait to leave. "

"Clean, tidy room. TV was very old and bad. It's definitely a sacrifice to not have your own bathroom or shower, but the savings in price was worth it to me for this trip."

"I was impressed by Andrew when we arrived, because we came early and he found a room for us. I should have read the reviews before we came to the hotel as I was not aware that the hotel does not provide "lotion." We went to the nearest store to buy lotion. We tried the swimming pool, but the water was so cold. It would be nice if the pool was heated. "

"If busy time of year eg Christmas, recommend getting front desk to recommend best breakfast time or say what current conditions were. We had to wait 25 mins to be seated and then there’s was only 15 mins for breakfast left. Staff excellent in that if some dish was not available they said they’d bring out more. If anything I felt sad for the families who loaded up their plates like a mini mountain with a gray buffet mix and then didn’t eat. A lesson to my own family to be mindful :-) . "

"The kitchen had everything I needed. The room was spacious. The hotel was in a central part of downtown. It had a city vibe so lots happening and ambulance sounds. But at the same time it was set back from the streets. Staff is very friendly so each time i returned from my day the hotel staff made me feel welcomed. Would definitely return. I’ve told all my colleagues about this place. Hidden gem"
