"The hotel staff were amazing. The hotel is older, but we'll kept, and a great location. We had a drink at the bar, and it took you back in time, and the drinks were, well cheap. The only complaint I have, was that the restaurant was closed and they were only selling pizzas out of the bar. I didn't see any info letting us know that when we booked."
Private beach and nature preserve on Lake Superior and Mineral River.
8/10 Good
"Check in was difficult as the vacation was in December and there must have been a recent snow. However, knowing that the house was rented, an outside light left on would have been welcoming as well as a plowed driveway with the rope removed from the entrance. We were able to contact the owner (though cell service did make that difficult as well) and he apologized and allowed for us to use his snowblower (that we then could not get started, nor did we want to break it trying). So, we resorted to good old tried and true shoveling of the entrance of the driveway instead. Then we had to shovel a path to the house and the deck as well. Our family is used to adventure and adventure we got. The house itself is lovely in location, remote and beautiful. We enjoyed exploring the grounds and beach. The house was clean enough. The kitchen was excellent with great cooking pans...even cast iron (which I made sure to season before we left!) We enjoyed your local gifts as well. The beds were comfortable. We did end up only using the upstairs shower as the main floor shower never got warm enough. Leaving a few extra rolls of toilet paper would be a kind gesture. Or maybe I missed it, but post on your listing in bold, bring your own toilet paper."
