CHALET LAKE SETTONS

8/10 Good

Logis Hostellerie d’Aussois

10/10 Excellent

"It is a very nice hotel overlooking a really beautiful medieval town. The staff were genuinely very nice and helpful. The food at the restaurant was awesome and reasonably priced and the breakfast was very good too. The swimming pool is great and was open late enough to enjoy it even after a day on the road. We will definitely go back to this hotel and recommend it to everyone. Our only regret was not to stay longer."

Hôtel Val Vert

10/10 Excellent

"We chose Hotel Val Vert for its location between Provence and Paris. We arrived fairly late and were able to have a lovely dinner right next door at a steakhouse. The room was very simple, clean and accommodating for 4 adults. The breakfast was amazing and we were so glad we chose to have it! A full buffet with many lovely and delicious items. The staff was super helpful and spoke English, which was a help for us. We would most definitely stay again should our travels take us to the area."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Pont D'Aisy?

The best area to stay in Pont D'Aisy is generally within the village itself or in the immediate surrounding countryside for easy access to its main attractions.

Pont D'Aisy is a small, quiet village, so staying directly within it provides the most convenience for exploring its local features, such as the church and the tranquil river banks. Accommodation here often consists of guesthouses or renovated farm stays, offering a genuine taste of rural Bourgogne life.

For couples seeking a peaceful retreat, staying in one of the guesthouses just outside the village, perhaps with views of the rolling hills and vineyards, would be ideal. These often provide more secluded settings, great for relaxation after a day of exploring the region's culinary delights and historic sites.

When is the best time to go to Pont D'Aisy?

The best time to visit Pont d'Aisy is typically during the late spring to early autumn months, from May to October, when the weather is most pleasant for exploring the region.

May and June offer comfortable temperatures, usually ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like cycling along the Canal de Bourgogne or walking through the surrounding countryside. The vineyards are lush, and the fields are green. This period is excellent for couples who enjoy exploring the outdoors and visiting local markets without the peak summer crowds.

July and August are the warmest months, with temperatures often between 20°C and 30°C. This is peak season, so you'll find all the local attractions, restaurants, and shops fully operational. It's a great time for families, as the warmer weather is superb for enjoying the lakes and rivers nearby, or for relaxing by a pool. However, it can also be busier, so booking accommodation and activities in advance is advisable.

September and October bring cooler, crisp air, with temperatures generally from 10°C to 20°C. This is harvest season in the vineyards, making it a particularly interesting time for those keen on wine tasting and seeing the winemaking process firsthand. The autumn colours in the countryside are also beautiful.
