LYFE INN & SUITES by AGA- North Hollywood Universal Studios
10/10 Excellent
"I loved my stay, the room was amazingly renovated, mi kids loved the bunk beds. The only downside was the sketchy neighborhood, but other than that I would go back to this hotel when I visit California in the future "
Tilt Hotel Universal/Hollywood, Ascend Hotel Collection
10/10 Excellent
"I stayed at the Tilt Hotel Universal/Hollywood for a quick trip to Universal Studios, and overall, it hit the mark for what I needed. The location was the biggest win—just under a mile from the park. You can technically walk it, but it’s uphill and a bit of a haul, so I ended up using rideshare most of the time.
The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The Hollywood-themed décor gave it some character, and the bed was surprisingly good. Staff were friendly and helpful across the board—they made check-in easy and handled a couple of minor requests quickly. I appreciated the free Wi-Fi, bottled water in the morning, and the in-room microwave and fridge. There’s also a small indoor pool, though I didn’t use it.
Now for the downsides: there’s no free breakfast, which was a little disappointing given that some listings suggest otherwise. Parking also isn’t included—it was around $25 a night. Not a deal-breaker, but something to factor into your budget. Noise from upstairs could carry a bit due to the hard floors, but it wasn’t constant. Turn on the air conditioner, thin walls are not noticed after that.
In short, the Tilt isn’t luxury, but it’s a solid, convenient option if your goal is to hit Universal Studios and have a clean, quiet place to crash nearby. I’d stay there again."
