Friendly staff, clean and cool room, a little oasis with some shade and sun at the pool. Every meal at the restaurant was delicious… lots of options if you want to eat healthy and embrace Pura Vida vibe or indulge in a great burger. Cocktails were excellent! Also just steps away from the beach!

We really enjoyed our stay at the rip Jack in. We were a family of two adults, two children ages, 10 and 12 and one senior. The location could not have been better. It was right beside the beach. There were lots of restaurants nearby, and the hotel restaurant was excellent. Only downsides were that breakfast was not included, there were a few towels provided, and there was no body lotion. There were several ants in the bathroom, but that is probably unavoidable given the location. The staff was very, very helpful and accommodating. The pools were small, but perfect. Our children loved seeing the iguanas and lizards on the property and really enjoyed the ping-pong table.

We had a great stay at Rip Jack Inn and wish we could have stayed longer than one night. We stayed in a bungalow with our family of 5 and it was very comfortable and had a private tropical feel. The food at the resort was delicious but expensive. My kids had a great time surfing in the area.

Overall, our stay was pleasant, particularly regarding the room, cleanliness, and general comfort, which were all at a good standard. That said, the food and beverage services were clearly the weakest part of the experience. As a Costa Rican who has lived in the United States for many years and returned home on vacation with my wife, I must say that the quality of the coffee was surprisingly poor for a hotel in Costa Rica, a country internationally recognized for its excellent coffee. Additionally, the food did not meet expectations. The gallo pinto, in particular, was not representative of the traditional Costa Rican dish, neither in preparation nor in flavor. For visitors hoping to experience authentic local cuisine, this may be disappointing. Finally, the prices for food were quite high considering the overall quality offered. With some improvements in the culinary experience and a better focus on local authenticity, this hotel could significantly enhance the value of its services.

The RipJack Inn is our go-to place to stay in the Playa Grande area. The rooms are clean, spacious with hot water and cool air conditioning. The restaurant/bar area has a fabulous happy hour with tasty food and refreshing beverages. You are a minute walk to one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Costa Rica. Monkeys and exotic birds are plentiful on the property. We have stayed on this property on several occasions and will continue to due so in the future.

Our stay at Rip Jack Inn was absolutely wonderful! The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and the food at the restaurant was outstanding. We especially loved the chicken nachos and happy hour drinks. The beach is just a one-minute walk from the property, which was perfect. We initially planned to stay for two nights but ended up extending for two more because of the amazing hospitality. Huge thanks to the incredible staff and owners for making our visit so special!

Loved it!

We had a great stay! Our room was under the kitchen but quieted down by 9:30. The bathroom was tiny but for the price we paid we’d stay again! The staff was incredible from the office to the grounds crew.

Perfect beach get-away!

My wife and I with a few friends visited RipJack in Playa Grande for a weekend get-away. It was perfect for what we were looking for. The beach is beautiful. The resort is clean and it has a safe feel. The restaurant has delicious food at regular resort prices. And the restaurant staff is great especially Renaldo. We will be staying there again.

Great boutique hotel! I’ve stayed at this hotel on two different trips. It is perfectly located a short walk to the beach. Rooms are clean and cozy, although it is loud b/c you’re close together on a small property and it is especially loud if you are below the restaurant. They’ve added new units, which are really nice. Pools & grounds are lovely & clean. Best part is delicious restaurant for smoothies in AM & yummy dinners w live entertainment.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Villas at the Rip Jack Inn. The villa area was private, with only 4 villas and a pool just for that area. Very short walk to the beach. The food at the restaurant was good but expensive. We had a mechanical issue and they came to fix it right away.

The property seem new, or at least recently renovated it is beautiful. We stayed in the bungalow and it was great, but could have used a way to hang up wet clothes. Unfortunately our room wasn't ready for us when we arrived, so we had to wait. And when we got to the room, the toilet needed plunging - nothing messy, but it wasn't flushing properly. Staff was very friendly and as responsive as possible. Everything we ordered in the restaurant was delicious.
